Hi Greg, lovely job, thanks for sharing. I've just install the free Lite version of lumenzia and I'm trying to follow the same steps you're showing here, I mean I'm making a selection with the lasso > click L2 > click the Bright/Contrast but the mask created contains the whole image not just the selected area like in your video. Is this a function reserved for the Full Version of the Plugin? Cheers
@gregbenzphotography11 ай бұрын
Yes, that’s part of the full version. You can paint through a selection with the free version to be more targeted there too.

SInce I am one of the people who is not using Photoshop CC, I do not think I have access to Brightness/contrast adjustment [At least if I read everything completely] so instead doing something like a levels adjustment and pushing brights and mids down seems to work.
@gregbenzphotography6 жыл бұрын
Brightness/Contrast has been around a long time I believe. But regardless, levels and curves are also great options to do similar things (curves give more control than levels).
@rickjanhollis6 жыл бұрын
@@gregbenzphotography Thanks. I know Brightness and Contrast have been around. I just thought you could not use them with Luminenza
@gregbenzphotography6 жыл бұрын
Ah. Lumenzia has support for B/C layers built into the panel for Photoshop CC. You can also use Lumenzia on any layer (not just the ones built-in) by using its “Mask” button.
@rickjanhollis6 жыл бұрын
Thanks @@gregbenzphotography Figured out how to get the 'missing' function. Reading the instructions for those of not using CC you said you could get all the functions [or almost all] by being creative.

Great video Greg! Quick question. When you used the lasso tool to make a selection, from what I can see it looks like it makes a nice soft selection with a feathered edge. How do you achieve that, I seem to only get a hard edge on my selections.
@gregbenzphotography6 жыл бұрын
Lumenzia automatically feathers it. You can choose this (go to the menu and reset pop up notifications in Lumenzia if you aren’t asked when applying the selection). See the written manual in the ZIP download for more details.
@bmackVR6 жыл бұрын
Not Greg, but I believe he is feathering the adjustment mask that is used to brighten and darken the selections. Lumenzia usually gives you the option to feather the mask, I'm guess his is turned on by default in this video.
@gregbenzphotography6 жыл бұрын
That’s right, I had set my feathering in Lumenzia to be used by default, so you don’t see the pop up in this video.

I'm probably missing something here, when I follow your instruction for contrast I get a mask just like those in the video. When I try the same for brightness, a lasso selection + say a zone 5 the mask is never limited to the lasso area and I tried with and without a prior lasso selection and the lasso area is a bit different. It's definitely not limited to the lasso area as in the video. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Lumensia 6 in case it helps It's just awesome what you did you did in this video. YG
@gregbenzphotography6 жыл бұрын
If you want to keep within the lasso, tell Lumenzia to use a hard selection. The feathering intentionally allows areas outside the lasso (but less strongly) for a more natural result.
@dr.lopuckdds26036 жыл бұрын
Greg, is there a way to sub-select a specific tone wihin your Lasso LM selection to alter that specific arena that the lasso encompasses.
@gregbenzphotography6 жыл бұрын
Yeo, just customize the orange preview layers, or add a secondary (group) mask after. See the video/written manual info on custom masks (such as my video on removing shadows).
