Just getting out of the high school bass tournament world (boat captain for my son) and back into kayak tournament fishing. So many bad examples out there for the kids coming up related to honesty and integrity. I appreciate you demonstrating both here and setting a good example. Keep up the good work and great content.

Welcome to Fork, where hearts are broken every day! lol. We have a place on Fork. It’s a battle to catch em. The Florida strain bass are nowhere near as aggressive as other strains. That coupled with pressure and an abundance of natural forage to eat, it’s tough figuring out what artificial lure will trick them on any given day. Yes, tons of water snakes. Every shoreline is full of them. Also, the fish you were seeing jumping were probably turtles. The lake is loaded with them and it took me a while to decipher surface movements. Sorry the trip wasn’t what you’d hoped but glad you made it down here!

Great video- Very relate-able! Anybody who has fished tournaments has had those days. I fished my but off in one tournament and after 4 hours of no bites, on a day when everyone was struggling like crazy-I got a huge 4 pounder that would have put me in the top three- Except he flopped out of my boat before I was able to record him....Ill never forget that moment!!!! Thanks for the great video very cool...

Lake Fork can be brutal man. I have a kayak tournament there tomorrow we are having to do things weird with the virus thing going on. No meetings in person, drive through style pay in for entry fees and weigh in and payouts will not be together either. I’ve still never put a limit together on that lake and it seems crazy being one the most famous lakes in Texas. So hoping for some bites out there tomorrow.... stay safe and healthy sir. When this virus stuff finally comes to an end it would great to have you come back to fish another event in Texas and maybe I’ll get to meet you.

Tough tourneys are tough, even tougher when a fish gets denied, but it's how you carry yourself and how honorable you are when people aren't looking that defines character. Its also important that all of us in the competitive kayak work follow your example if we are to take this to the level that we want this to go.
