Mr. Greg . . . Another enjoyable vid Sir! Great weather and some NICE fishing. I remember trout fishing with POPs in a stream for the first time, I was 12 years old, and whenever I saw one, POPs told me to move on, come back later approaching the spot with stealth (i.e. stay low and don't cast a shadow; try to approach the spot with the sun in my face). Basically, POPs explained to me . . . if I saw the fish, it most likely alreayd saw me and wouldn't bite, if it didn't skirt away into cover. I also learned this "rule" applied to my bass fishing experiences as well 😉. Be SAFE, hoping you're having some QT (Quality Time) with family and friends back East and looking forward to your next vid Sir 🤙.

@@cfishpantoutdoors8172 Thank you! I am going to give it a shot this summer at some point. I know it'll add about 1 mph to my max speed but will also compromise my battery life running that all day. Right now I'm totally comfortable with having the 180 and basically being able to run at about 4 to 4.5 mph for an entire day and have plenty of battery to spare.

Thank you! I'd say if you're sub 200 pounds the max is the best all around kayak for transporting and trying new places or getting into really small bodies of water. That's basically why I have it while in NY vs Cali when I'm fishing big water and fast water at that such as the Delta not to say the max wouldn't work there, I just prefer a big vessel when going out there and typically going miles and miles away from the launch.

@jamesh7469
@jamesh7469 Жыл бұрын
@@scottbostic6247 the effect is extremely pronounced where I fish on the great lakes where the water vis is more than 40’. The ripples add a little bit of sound disturbance and break up the surface/scatter light in the water, helping to disguise those faster moving reaction baits so the fish don’t get as good of a look at them. It’s absolutely critical on the great lakes, but I find the pattern still holds pretty much anywhere with moderate visibility.

Hey Greg, out of curiosity. You said your slayer max 10 is perfect for when you come home, and it's super easy to load and use. But you like your Titan 12 for Cali. As a cayuga Lake resident, should I get your same setup as you have here in NY? Sense it works perfectly, or sense I'm always here should I opt for the 12 for more stability? Technically, it's only a few hundred bucks of a difference, so if you think I should opt for the 12, I'm at a point in my life, finally, where I can get my dream tournament set up, but can't decide in the 10 or 12 lol. What do you think?
@eltonwadlow
@eltonwadlow Жыл бұрын
Get yourself a slayer max 12.5, you’ll love it. A little skinnier and less stable than the titans but lighter, and in my opinion, better looking. The tracking on them is amazing as well
@GregBlanchardFishing
@GregBlanchardFishing Жыл бұрын
I'd say if you're sub 200 pounds slayer max 10 is the one. The 12 is great but there's a significant weight difference from the 10 to the 12. It'll depend on where you want to fish with it too. If you're going to keep it right on your property and it's an easy launch always go bigger but if you're going to haul it around to different launches or even lakes the 10 is obviously my choice. Honestly don't think you'd really go wrong with either one. Enjoy!
@dne3142
@dne3142 Жыл бұрын
@GregBlanchardFishing that's a very good point! I can't go wrong with either. I'll probably go with the 10 because I weight like 185, and I tote my kayak everywhere lol and yours seems to handle the bigger lakes well anyway! Thanks for reaching back out Greg!
