Greg, I just started following you. I was so tired of “chasing” my hair that I decided to go bald. I was apprehensive about cutting what hair I had completely off, but the daily disappointment of looking at it pushed me into a change. I didn’t know how to start, so KZbin was guide. I found you and a couple others who showed me how to get started. Thank you. Your opinions on products are something that I needed to get a positive beginning on my change. The electric razor “bald buddy” is perfect. It makes the process fast and easy. It’s well made and worth the cost. Thanks again.

Finally was able to purchase the bald buddy, thanks for the discount 👍 in the fall through spring I don't razor shave my head, due to wearing a hat with frequent shaving it does irritate my scalp. I've used it 3 times since this Saturday. I love! This thing. Yes it's not razor skin smooth. But very close to it & extremely even. Super easy zero irritation. It wastes the brio zero blade. I used that last year I like it but yeah lots of gentle scrapes all over my head it get very close, not as close as bald buddy. Its excellent!

I have yet to find a rotary shaver that works, they all give me horrible irritation and a patchy shave. I've tried everything from the top of the line skull shaver pitbull, to the Remington rx8, to the freedom shaver, to cheap imports. Foil shavers are vastly superior to rotary, I'm partial to Braun.
@JimboSRP3 жыл бұрын
I'm the same - I've tried electric razors on my head occasionally and all I got was irritated skin with uneven stubble. I've been using the old fashioned straight razors (not the disposable blade ones) for years (dare I say decades...) and I have that down to under a few minutes, but all the other palava that goes with it - stropping the razor, making lather with the badger brush, cleanup, drying the blade etc - adds another 5 minutes to the overall process. This looks like it could be a great solution for those days, like you said, I am in a rush to get out the door. I will definitely look this up. If you had to compare the smoothness of the result, where would it sit? Like how it feels a few hours after wet-shaving with a blade? The way you clean it by running it with the cutting deck under water reminds me of how I clean my lawn tractor cutting deck! lol.

It still cant beat a blade shave....its good for in between shaves but you need to wait to have more than stubble. a razor works better because it simple gets closer. This is good if you are in a hurry and want to clean up to look presentable...these aren't meant to replace a razor shave....no matter who makes them or how much they cost. I've had $29 ones all the way up to over $100 and they all do the same thing!

@AJHipCurler3 жыл бұрын
Greg, I'm curious which Electric's you've tried for comparison? I have had similar questionable results (like you cite) with the standard ones that are design for the face, like my Dad's Norelco's. But there are ones other than this built for the head specifically. My brother got me a "Skull Shaver" also known by it's model brand "Pitbull" that worked a lot better than the face ones. I've also seen a similar one to that called "Freedom Grooming", and one or two others. The Skull Shaver has a few of the features you talk about in Bald Buddy and a different handle. However, none of the ones I've tried create the full same effect as standard blade. Maybe my stubble just grows in faster than those that like it, or maybe I'm just too much of a perfectionist, I don't know. So I'm curious for a full comparison of those designed specifically for the head to see if there's significant difference. I will agree though, there's a potential time and irritation savings if you can be satisfied with what these electrics do. I have picked up using the one my Brother got me 3-4 days a week during the work week and just dealing with the fact a few areas don't come out as smooth as I like, which helps get me to the office on time. But before a hot date I still feel like I need a real blade.
@GregBoswell4283 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's been so long ago (I've been shaving my head for @20 years) that I can't accurately recall the makes and model of the electric shavers I had used. I dont even own them anymore. No, you won't get the same effect as a razor. It's just not possible with any electric shaver. However, what I noticed is that I got absolutely no irritation of the skin and it was the most even cutting shaver I've ever used. It really surprised me. The way the 5 heads move and pivot I'm sure had a lot to do with it. It's something I plan on using during the week while still using a razor on the weekend. I'll have to say, it did leave my head looking really nice, though.

Ergonomic handle rides head like buffer. Remington and Skull Shaver you hold like a ball and push along head. The ergonomics allows the hand and wrist to be more relaxed. When the hand and wrist are not as relaxed that's when you get an uneven cut and could cause irritation. We are also ore affordable and give part proceeds to veteran's with disabilities. Skull Shaver is great. As far as power, blades, battery it's it's same as ours... Remington and Freedom are kinda knick offs. I'd go with a Skull Shaver before a Remington. All in all it all comes down to regimen. Without pre-exfoliation and after treatment, you increase risk ingrown hairs or burn.
