Colin complains that he has to “prove his worth” to talk about soccer then brings up Gregg’s winning percentage without the context of playing majority small island nations.

The Nations League in Europe and CONCACAF is why. We never play friendlies against Europe anymore and play CONCACAF more than ever. Colin didn't care about USMNT except at World Cups and now he's starting to pay attention to mid cycle tournaments, which is fine, but it's weird to criticize the fans. Imagine if someone didn't know the basic context of the NFL - he'd be all over them for it.

53 of Berhalter's 74-games were hosted inside the USA, unlike any prior USA manager. Eight games were held at neutral sites. He managed only thirteen authentic away games in his entire tenure. 57% of Berhalter's opponents were tiny nations of less than 7 million, also quite unlike any prior USA coach. Look it up Colin.

The fact is Berhalter never deserved the job and the team never had a good run under him. They either barely met expectations or drastically under performed. Good riddance to the nepo hire

Greggs record against top 30 teams was 6 wins 9 draws and 10 loses (4 of the wins against Mexico who has their worst National team in forever). In nations league lost at TNT and should have lost to Jamaica. This COPA America we were the first host to ever not make the knock out rounds. Gregg needed to go, it's not the fans Colin.

That's because the only time you will face those teams is at a WC or the occasional Copa. Friendlies are meaningless and shouldn't be used as a barometer of anything. Also, like Colin said, the team was too young and inexperienced. Only stupid fans actually thought that USMNT would make noise in a WC with inexperienced players LMAO. Only Bruce Arena since the turn of the century has beaten a team of note in a WC.

@@LRF49 Stop kissing Colin’s ass, he knows little about US soccer. He only covers it’s when shit like this happens, but he’ll talk all day about Lebron. Maybe if he covered soccer with more fervor I and others would take him more seriously on the topic. If you want real US soccer content, go to tactical manager, zealandism or even Golazo. You will only see topics here that might get more clicks.

Colin is wrong about almost everything regarding Berhalter and soccer: - First soccer fans want casual fans to pay attention to soccer. We just don't like it when casuals start acting they know more and try to lecture/call us idiots or toxic. - As someone who watches the games, Berhalter's 69% winning percentage is because of the weak opponents we played. AND with Berhalter's system, we would struggle to score and create opportunities even though our talent was superior to the opponents. We couldn't beat or even compete against a top team not named Mexico (their weakest generation) - In the World Cup, Berhalter did the absolute bare minimum. Sure you can say that moat of our players weren't in their prime, but they are still REALLY good. Multiple players at that time (and still) played in the Champions league and for top/mid teams in Europe. - Lastly, Berhalter was holding this team back. If Berhalter was in charge in 2026, we wouldn't have done anything special. There is a reason he got fired in the Swedish 2nd division because "the team lacked offense" and couldn't even win half of his games in MLS. Berhalter did nothing special with this team that our previous coaches haven't done.

We can’t keep hating mainstream media when they aren’t as in tune as the rest of us. Like it or not, he has the eyes and ears of sports fans in this country who haven’t yet realized how amazing this sport is. Colin talking about it is how this country can become a soccer country (or at least more than we are now). Even if he’s not right on everything, he can reach a bigger audience, have more people buying tickets for games, more eyes for tv ratings, etc. Everyone had to learn the game at some point

Berhalter’s win record means less when you consider he has played significantly worse opposition throughout his tenure. Also, wrt the World Cup campaign, the big difference is HOW we play in the knockouts. When we went out in 2002 and 2014 we put up real, exciting fights. In 2022 there was nothing inspiring about our World Cup.

Heres my take on the Gregg stuff. Sure, he had a solid win percentage, sure he had a younger team. But over his tenure all I have seen is stagnation, and a culture of complacency. Making it out of the group stages in the WC was the minimum expectation for a team that has been ranked in the top 15 like the US have, especially in a group that has Wales and Iran. Losing to Netherlands was expected, but the WC was still a slight disappointment in my eyes when we tie Wales and barely skate by Iran. The Copa was a MASSIVE disappointment. Only beating Bolivia 2-0 was the start...that team was horrific. The Panama loss was embarrassing, regardless of only having 10 men. But seeing Gregg yell to the team about Bolivia tying Panama is when I realized we need to move on. Again - complacency. Why are we playing to tie and assuming the other game will remain a tie? We need to play to WIN. And I was frustrated to hear Matt Turner postgame say ' I see no issues with the direction we are heading'. I think everyone got too comfortable. US fans are tired of hearing 'we will get better'. We need to see progress, especially with this talented of a team. Our all-MLS teams performed better than this. The Copa was Greggs last chance to prove me wrong that he can utilize our talent and we flamed out big time. A change had to be made if the US is serious about competing in the 26 WC. Glad they did the right thing and hope we can get a manager that pushes our team to be great, not to just skate by with draws and complacent soccer.

This was a needed move. Everyone understands that the players have a lot to do what happened at the Copa America, but like with any sport, you don't fire the players. The US soccer federation has been going on the cheap with their managers. We expect from them to make a power move, look overseas. They have enough talent to do something special, to generate more interest, it'll benefit US soccer overall. This move is not just about firing a manager, it's more dipper than that.

Hey Colin, for someone that likes to bag on the fans that have realized years ago that GGG wasn't the right guy, what answer do you have for the meteoric rise of Colombia? This is a team that crashed out of WCQ in CONMEBOL in 2022. What is the ONE thing that changed on that team to now be unbeaten in 28 games? It sounds to me like you got your soccer info from mainstream media that spent years glazing GGG's record that was absolutely artificially padded by playing way more games at home than our previous coaches and he played against significantly worse quality teams. Plus, our actual win rate is 37%. A draw is not a win. What do you also think about the fact that GGG's tenure at both Columbus and Hammerby have around the same win ratio? Or the fact that the Crew got BETTER when he left?

I want more mainstream coverage of soccer, but winning percentage without context means nothing. Wins against top 30 opponents (ELO Ranking) not named Mexico (who is on the decline), is under 12%. 2 wins from 17 and they are over Ecuador in a 2019 friendly, and Iran at the world cup. If you include wins over Mexico - it raises to 25%, record against Mexico in this stretch is 4W-1D-2L. 64% is impressive, but when you cant win against better opposition, that context is necessary imo.

The garbage that spilled out his mouth about Greg is why he is not invited to the soccer club. Stick to American sports.

32:57 you didn’t notice for two years of his presidency? When you started to notice you should’ve gone back and looked at stuff from his first year. It wouldn’t have taken the deepest of dives and it should’ve re-contextualized why he never did a debate in 2020

“Always blame the coach” lol yes because none of the coaches have been good coaches. Berhalters record against Cuba and El Salvador are irrelevant

Colin doesn’t watch baseball either. The pitchers aren’t having a cool time mowing down hitters in 3 pitches like he says. Theres a reason guys have like 80 pitches into the 5th inning and starters don’t go 7-8 innings anymore. They are having long at bats trying to get hitters out.

Colin gets mad that Paul Finebom says Lincoln Riley is a sinking ship claiming Harbaugh, a coach with a much better resume, won eventually at Michigan. Colin then proceeds to say USC doesn't have the NIL money to compete with other major programs or even Oregon. Colin, you are huffingso.e heavy copium.
