I recommend using a format more like "Gregg and Grian" or "Gregg & Grian" next time you make a compilation as "x" is used to indicate shipping in fandom spaces lol. So is "/" as well. To say "character X character" is to indicate a romantic or sexual dynamic!

Can I have a proof about the last statement? I know it meant shipping, and yes, I'm shipping them unromantically or platonically. But I haven't heard that "x" only meant to ship romantically cause I thought it just meant that they're "good when together". If it does tho, I'll re edit my thumbnail and title

I've been in fandom for just under a decade and it served as the main romantic and/or sexual dynamic indicator (generally in the context of shipping specifically) for most of that time. With the rise of Ao3 the slash ("/") has started to rival it in terms of what we use for romantic/sexual dynamics but "and" or "&" has always been a neutral indicator, more recently in the past half decade or so becoming platonic specifically. I've seen X used platonically maybe 7 or 8 times compared to hundreds or even thousands of the other meaning being used. And in the few times I remember it was people who didn't realize the connotations at first and generally changed it or had an "ohhh" moment when explained the meaning lol. There may be a specific few fandoms ive never brushed against that has a unique culture around the x but in general fandom culture it's def not platonic. (well, a sexual dynamic can be platonic but you know what I mean lol)
