I am not you I am me, and I will follow you're advice, doing my thing daily. Today I used leftover refrigerant line, fishing line and old bottles to make a hanging moss garden. It's coming together nicely, flowed right through me as you said. Started cleaning the labels and now it's 11 at night. The frame is soldered and polished copper, the bottles are spaced apart in an appealing way.

I definitely think theres a place for routine in creativity but I reckon it could actually be a bit detrimental to whatever it is you're making?? Like I've found if I sit down every day to write a bit of music (if I have a deadline or smthn), the days where I force myself to write I end up going back and deleting those bars a few days later. Because you can't force good ideas - and for me at least when I try to I end up just getting rid of that bit. Unsure if that's just me tho lol. HOWEVER you can still do a bit every day? Like just THROWING DOWN IDEAS on a proper creative day vs fixing things on a less-creative day. Not sure what the painting/writing etc equivalent would be but if I've written some music I'll go back and fix the way I've notated it and the way the score works, like all the maths stuff I hate doing. Vvv interesting topic again tho I'm SO here for this series!!

YO IM SO HYPED It's really cool that you know about cognitive functions. Idk if you read these comments but do you have other thoughts about MBTI/cognitive functions? Not all of them would fit into your content I think, like Ni/Se, but the conflict between Fe and Fi seems sort of relevant. Of course that's up to you, I'm just curious. As for routines; about 2 years ago I made a deal with myself that I would go for a walk everyday. It isn't exactly an artistic thing, but those additional 5 kilometres really helped me both with staying active, organising my inner world but also feeling closer to nature and the world around me (which can be difficult when you're always staring at a screen) and I honestly just started because of the first perk. And perhaps it is time to bring forth the old notebook and just write something. Learn how that music program works and make *something*. Just something. I'll do that today for 5 minutes, maybe less, but it's better than nothing at all. Maybe it too will have additional perks? It's great to see that you're being active on this channel. Thank you for giving so many people motivation to try again, Greg (-:

Hi Mr Guevara! I think this was a great video in context of how my routine has been. I have never really been able to follow one long as you said yourself, but I have found myself the past few days purposefully waking up earlier (5am to 6am) and going to bed earlier to watch this videos. So if you ever needed a motivator to keep going with this series your helping out some random uni student’s sleep schedule. Thank you for the horrific tension as well. It’s good for me to try and form my own understanding with information given, and I do think that it’s useful that with some advice you should attempt to work out on your own :)

Somehow with a desk full of a planners, a phone full of reminders and 3 different calendars around the house I just canNOT stick to a routine, it's driving me nuts- It's frustrating but sometimes I do just have to essentially spam reminders at myself to just sit down and do stuff, or plan stuff to do, or organise my stuff where I plan the stuff I wanna do- all so I can make that damn *something* that's been haunting my creative brain for the last month

I have a set of routines that i switch off of once every month or so because doing the same thing for to long messes with my head. Although i guess i do have the routine of drawing everyday, but only because its the only thing that makes me happy. I must admit that even for as long as i have spent drawing in my life I don’t have very much technical drawing skills. It’s all random self indulgent nonsense that could never be useful or marketable to anyone except for myself. But hey, until i realized how much i love drawing all i ever thought about was low much i hated everything and hoped that i didnt wake up the next day. So id say i’m doing a whole lot better than where i was all those years ago. Anyway, routines are good as long as you don’t over do it to the point you get yourself stuck in a rut, is where i was originally going with this comment until i remembered the drawing thing. Also what i think i will take away from this video is to spend more time learning technical stuff about drawing everyday so that maybe one day i could make a few extra dollars on the side because i’ve been putting off actually learning how to draw for like 7 years at this point.
@KajaKay2 жыл бұрын
I also really need a routine but just can't stick to it.. I tried drawing daily but I did it for three days and haven't done it the last two, but I'm still gonna continue it, it's somewhat easy and fun. But also my new semester starts today.. And I am crap at doing anything for that, my last semester and all the ones before that were horrible, and I like to blame the switch to online teaching on it, at least my first semester I had to wake up and physically go somewhere to listen to them, but now it's online or I just get Videos and.. Nope, watching multiple hour-long videos a week really doesn't fit into my non-existent routine.. And I can't do that just five minutes.. But yeah, art is better for this, or doing push ups or some sport or even learning a language on some app.. That's a thing I actually did everyday for five minutes a day for the last 3 weeks! Until yesterday, but I mostly did it 10 minutes before midnight anyway and I forgot. So, having a routine in sorta 'useless' things is somewhat easier for me but not for things I actually need for my future but have no motivation for anyway.. Sorry, for pretty much just rambling about my life.

Hi it's me "you figure it out!" Thanks for handing over the reins Greg. I've found that when you shit out your work as soon as the inspiration comes. You feel sort of distant from your work, it doesn't feel like you made it and you always feel like it could have been better if you spent more time on it. Though conversely you may scrap your idea all together if you don't do something with that inspiration once you get it. You might, and I'm talking about me, decide everything you do is stupid and give up for a couple months! :>
