The entertainment value of the comments is worth much more then the price of admission! lol! Can't go wrong with a Tacoma or a Honda either. I have an unfair advantage in comprehending your vision Mr.Judy. 30 plus years as an Electrician in industrial and commercial work. BTW no concrete finisher ever feared losing their job to me! Great job Ben and Isaac. You are a very real assest. Thanks.

Doesnt teach about what leaches out of that tire into the cattle. No thank you
@gregjudyregenerativerancher2 жыл бұрын
Nothing leaches out, it is vulcanized rubber, same as a plastic glass that you drink water out of. I’ve taken numerous water samples to the lab and they detected no chemicals of any kind.

Why is the cedar log wall so high? And why does it get higher around the ‘back’ side?
@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
With the hill where the pad is, you have to make the back side higher to get a level pad

Hondas can be confusing, my Honda has a valve in the gas cap, on or off, that vents the tank to the outside. You don't want to store it vented, but when it is running, you want it vented, so a vacuum isn't created, keeping gas from flowing. Does, "On," mean the vent is on to vent air?, or is it on when it is keeping air from flowing? I never can get used to it.

How do you clean the tank? I'd like to build one of these for our goats, but I'm sure they'll poop in it.
@gregjudyregenerativerancher2 жыл бұрын
It has a 4” drain pipe in the bottom of it to drain and clean it out. With goats, make sure you use some concrete blocks to build steps out of the tank for goats that fall off into it!!!!

What keeps water from leaking between cement and tire. Did I miss something? Do they add a sealant?
@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
The design of the tire bottom does not allow the water to seal out. We have numerous other tire tanks that have been in for 20 years. None of them leak.

wont they fall off the back? you will fill it with dirt or? also I have never seen you speak on your electricity bills -- which I can imagine are quite high! would appreciate :)
@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
Our electric fences use no power to keep hot. I know it hard to believe but these new chargers just don't turn over hardly any Kilowatt hours on the meter. Now if you leave a steel post shorting out yiur fence for 30 days straight, the charger will use Kilowatts then. The cattle are so mobile they just hop off the sides of the tank, they are magnificent athletes.
@marvinbaier36274 жыл бұрын
A normal fence charger uses about 1kw/month. 1kw cost about 12 cents or so. The cost of keeping charger plugged in all year round is $1.44. Yeah less than $1.50. That’s cheap in my book.

Why not pour concrete all around the tire...instead of crushed rock...rock on the underside of concrete but concrete about 4inch thick
@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
That would work if you could get the concrete trucks into these areas. We have concrete pads on our big farm, they have done well.
@greggergen91044 жыл бұрын
You might consider using lime rock. Even if the cattle walk out with it, you have limed your pasture.
@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
I used Lime rock starting out, it lasted 1 year and was gone. At $400 a load, that is a bit pricey to be putting down every year!!
