Tuba! When I was a kid living on Guam, all the local stores sold tuba. It is fermented sap out of the coconut palm which is tapped out of the upper part in the crown of the coconut trees and fermented. Good stuff.

Tuba is a drink that Filipinos gave us when they were part of New Spain, and Mexico city was the capital. , .... Is a drink you can only find in the Pacific.

I love walking back from the south end of the beach past the families and under the pier back to Los Archos. The kids and families are having so much fun building sand "things" and playing. And everyone is friendly!

But I’ve never had the opportunity to experience any of the culture. Glad to see you appreciating, and it’s awesome that you guys respect it. Awww I miss it so much! I was on that exact beach and went to the same oxxo. I definitely noticed how all the tourists were on the right side in the arch and the locals on the left. I left to Puerto Vallarta exactly today one year ago.

I have not spent a full day at the beach since I left San Diego in the early 90s even though I've lived on the Oregon coast for almost 11 years now. Not the same. Tuba is taken from the spot on a coconut tree where the coconuts are going to grow. They tap into the tree as if it were a maple tree and extract that concentrated juice. Then it gets fermented. When they serve it they need to dilute with some sort of water or juice since it’s so concentrated. I’ve seen it with orange juice quite a bit.
