I've traveled for 40+ years on and off. The past six years I've lived in three countries and I'm getting ready for my fourth. All over the US, Mexico City and the past few years in Europe. It's wonderful to see so many ohters doing the same.

Great video. Thanks for introducing us to Barbro. Curious what the total rent for her whole space is, not just her portion. Also how did she go about buying her furniture. I know , I know, there're all types of stores and shops , but what was her experience. Thanks!!!
@barbrozaniewicz381823 сағат бұрын
Most houses like this are unfurnished and around $16000 more or less in this area, I think, maybe even higher. I bought some furniture in department stores on sale just like I would in Canada, other through stores that display sample furniture where you choose what you want and have it shipped. Some is also second hand, and the table and two chairs not shown were bought unfishished and then painted. None of my furniture is "fine" furniture, but it does for me.

Thanks for responding, Barbro. You are the best! I just want to remind some of our viewers that $16000 is in pesos, so right now that is about $780 Usd or $1,121 Cdn Buen día :)

Are there any smoke-free options that you’re aware of in Mexico?
@RetiredLifeMexico11 сағат бұрын
There are laws here that prohibit smoking indoors...though not in some establishments from what I understand. We have been fortunate that most smokers are not renting in our areas. That being said, I would say there are several "Smoke-free options". You just have to look before you commit to renting a place. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great day!

What is the mosquito situation?
@RetiredLifeMexico11 сағат бұрын
Mosquitoes seem to be taking a bit of a break right now, as we don't see them as often. However, I still get a bite here and there even though I use repellent daily and they continue to bite me. We highly recommend using a spray with deet and the local public health authorities are gearing up for the start of the mosquito season in February! Spray spray and spray some more! Dengue was no fun! Are you planning a visit to Puerto Vallarta?

I think many people these days are citizens of the world. All my neighbors come from overseas and with flights these days everything is so fast to get to your home country so WHY NOT? My biggest tip is to always have a smile on your face and be polite about the country U R living in or touring. I once bumped into a different group of travellers from my country in and they whined and whined.......I thought the country was fabulous and I got treated well by the locals because I appeciated their country. Just don't travel from U.S. or Canada to another country and then whine about their customs. It's better to travel in your own country in that case. E.G. Chinese smoke a lot any it is cheap there. I have seen locals from my country telling Chinese to put their cigarettes out. Their country = their rules and customs.

I am 80 years old and living on the same amount of money this lady has. I am in Canada, but I have a 3-story townhouse with 2010 sq. ft filled to the brim with fantastic Antiques, original artworks and a full basement studio. My townhouse has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. I have a huge deck and fenced in outdoor garden of more than an acre of land. I could never get this in Mexico. Thank God I am in Canada.
