And he’s getting better! Which is just insane dude. I’ve exhaustively watched everything of Greg’s that I could find (I’m not crazy I was stuck in bed after a few surgeries on a bad broken leg) and while always being very talented he clearly evolved his gristle in the last decade to the beast he is now.

Incredible! You are my new favorite guitarist. I never heard anyone even attempt Jimi's Machine Gun before.
@CorbCorbin7 сағат бұрын
I’ve been covering it since I was 16, in the mid 90’s. The riffs for each part aren’t very difficult. It’s getting the vibe right(pun intended), and building it up, before going more wild and trippy with it, for the sounds of a war zone. I learned Machine Gun, Who Knows and Message of Love off the Band of Gypsys album, snd it blew the minds of much better players than I was. I got pretty good at improvising, and most players at my level, or even a bit beyond, just couldn’t do it as easily, or at all. Machine Gun is excellent to improvise to. Drums and bass follow the riff, or the guitarist can follow their changes.

I don't think I've ever heard this song seriously covered and rarely have I ever heard Hendrix covered this well. And the greatest part of it is that it's *not* - or maybe "not just" - a tribute... they're interpreting it ffs. Outstanding!

Ok ; this feels genuine enough… First, you got something that looks like a real attic room with shit & random stuff lying around : check. Then you got your sweat-pants long-haired drummer ; check. Add a one-finger-style transic bassman and to top it off : Marvelous Greg doing a fine rendition of Machine Gun with his usual versatility. Rock on!!! 🤘🏼

I do love Greg Koch’s excesses on guitar 🎸♥️. But heard through my iPad Pro and Beyer 880 Pro studio headphone, which emphasizes bass - the bass volume is indeed way too low and it is also - as a matter of fact - unfortunately a general experience of mine with Gristle from the Orange Room 😳. Turn up the bass 👍😊.
@mds117111 сағат бұрын
