I´m a 65 years old intermediate "hobby player" from Finland repeating the same patterns over and over again. Listening to your playing and your approach is absolutely inspiring. I think it is impossible for any other human being to play like you, but thank you for your tutorials and personality.

hey Greg, 50 yr old Aussie here woodshedding away on the telecaster for last 2 years of covid. Listen to your podcasts, watch your stuff. You should be so proud of your specialist telecaster skills and repertoire built over a lifetime - plenty other players inspirational but none any better - magnificent achievement with sparkling personality to boot. Pirate on and spank it - Adam, Fremantle, West Australia.

He is...the...Master... I actually grew up w this guy...and watched Him from day one..... He played for only like...6mo...and was already mastering..Stones...Clapton..Hendrix....u name it....was pretty incredible to watch... I think the guitar took Him by storm...as much as He took it by storm.......

@@michaelfitzpatrick6307 thanks for the insight Mike. Makes sense - supersonic learning - for some like Greg it then becomes a natural extension of their hearts ,hands and mind. Its a blast and a privilege to have access to the caliber of guys like Greg Koch on the UTube coming outa there lounge rooms and into mine. Probably the most challenging thing at times is to just laugh and enjoy rather than get over whelmed. Good stuff, thanks for the info.

Love it when you play this raunchy, yet sophisticated shuffle. Thank you for breaking it down. Still a lot to digest, but I love the spicy and dissonant notes! Getting the ‘basic’ shuffle down, with the turn arounds, the raunchy parts would be awesome.🤩

I love the harmonies. That ending chord Emin9Maj7 is so cool. I would never have thought of that in a blues setting but it's so hip. It's like something out of a James Bond movie.

Great lesson! I first saw you play some time around 1991 at Summerfest. One of my friends had played the same stage right before the band you were with took to the stage. I think you had long hair back then. We were very impressed by your performance.

the northern tone squatch, in his natural environment, displaying tips and tricks for succulent tonal bliss...when I was young(12-13), there was a family friend, Jim Bohannon, who much like you, was an artisan of the blues idiom. He spent 6months to a year teaching me these same techniques.. discussed his influences,(chet, johnny w, duane, clapton, dickie b...) and this had a PROFOUND influence on my eventual tone, phrasing, ect.... this lesson was like a time capsule back to 1983.....then I heard EVH......LOL

I really think you're getting the hang of this guitar thing. If you stick with it there's just no telling .... That move you made (7:48) going up was the Keith Richards move. Do have any idea how good of a teacher you are? I do.

@matthewpierce89354 жыл бұрын
Is the lack of sustain on that Tele due to low amp volume? Or does it just sound flat like that naturally? All your notes sound chocked off.. Also, thank you for the lesson!! Very kind of you to post this type of material..
