Le fond noir avec les mains qui ont l’air de voler, c’est magnifique

There literally isnt 2 other thermin players in the world on his level to make a trio. So my man had to do it all himself. 💪
@RikardPeterson2 күн бұрын
I think there are probably more than two others that would be capable of playing this, but that doesn't mean this isn't wonderful. Beautiful!
@pencrowsКүн бұрын
@@RikardPeterson What the commenter probably means is that there aren't players on "his level" so even if they can play the notes, they wouldn't play it to the right standard. And honestly, regrettably, tragically, I agree. M. Blanc's standard in my opinion is more than a bit above anybody else's at least in terms of western classical performance. I really don't mean to degrade any other thereminists because there are very strong thereminists out there, just that they do not yet have the ear to give things polish and character. Though I'll admit the competition in the space of people trying to take theremin away from being a novelty and into "serious" use is not very high. Most people do end up just treating it like an instrument for a silly little gag involving an alien which does make me sad considering how nice this piece sounds on the theremin played by someone who has the hours of practice, much conviction, and spirit.
@RikardPetersonКүн бұрын
@@pencrows Maybe you're right. I'm not a theremin expert. I had two people in mind when I wrote my comment, but when I looked them up it turns out they were both the same person, Pamelia Kurstin, who I remembered from two different contexts. The other theremin players I know are in different genres.
@pencrows15 сағат бұрын
@@RikardPeterson I do wish that Pamelia Stickney made more theremin music. She really was one of the best contemporary performers. Even though she didn't do much in the terms of classical music in her typical releases, she definitely has the ear for it.

I also like the brassy, maybe slightly less vocal timbre which is soloed after 2:01. I was going to ask what synth you used, but then I read the video's description. Even if you decide not to use this setup regularly, I hope you won't retire it completely.

The soprano is impressive... I think that goes without saying, but since I complemented the supporting role... obviously the lead voice was like, "wow".

Someday, humanity will create a system that allows users to upload their consciousness to the cloud at the end of their natural lives. Perhaps it will be referred to as “Digital Heaven.” Whatever it’s called, I suspect this will be the music that plays when you enter its gates ❤
