Bunny Briggs would have turned 99 today. Bernard "Bunny" Briggs. 02/26/22 Tapping on the clouds in haven... With Gregory, of course..

Bunny so smooth and effortless he could be doing all that and you wouldn't even know where it was coming from.

If Hines is amazing, Briggs is the genius! Flawless performance ❤️

Bunny Briggs moves so smooth. You can hear him tapping, but his feet don't seem like they are moving. At one time it was illegal for Black people to drum in America. So we started to drum with our feet.

My favorite thing to do on a rainy day like today is watch all the OGS dance. I fall into a youtube rabbit hole of dance videos! In the 80's I bought tickets to a Pointer Sister / Patti Labelle concert in Dallas ONLY because Gregory Hines would be tapping between their performances!

How they do it, I'll never know ... and they make it look so easy! I love Gregory Himes. Gone way too soon. RIP

These are the guys that I grew up watching and so many more. I really hope all of those kids sitting there are future hoofers to keep the art alive. God speed. ECF.

@@Diesel-le5fx I found out a while ago that he used makeup to make his skin browner, he was naturally dark skinned, & he’s not wearing makeup here; I figured it out.
