Trying KFC in Singapore - Grilled Chicken, Gold Spice Chicken and Shrooms Burger

Is KFC in Singapore really the worlds worst KFC? The locals sure think so, so I go to find out for myself, and while there I try some new KFC chicken, the new Grilled chicken, the new Gold Spiced chicken, and the Shooms burger!

Guys, different parts of Singapore have different flavours of food and I personally like their mash potato,chicken,french fries,chicken nuggets and drinks

I can tell you this. I live in Singapore and the KFC nuggets, tastes like rubber. The only food worth buying there is the Rice Bucket. Well, for me.

Yeah, the nuggets are bland, rubbery and the skin is dry. When I tried it, it was even cold.

It really depends on where the KFC store is. Different locations in singapore have different tastes. I would say near here actually tastes nice

For KFC fried chicken I pick crispy over original and also thigh over breast. Chicken breast texture is like rubber. Chicken thigh is more tender and juicy.

We have a place called Williams chicken and it is so good. The portions are good and the price is good. It’s gotten to the point where we eat at home and take lunch to work instead of thinking about fast food because everything sucks.

Next time go to Keng Eng Kee seafood at 124 Bukit Merah lane 1 #01-136. Recommended food - chilli/pepper/salted egg crab, coffee pork ribs, cereal prawns, marmite chicken.

Malaysia’s KFC tastes better because they use fresh chicken while Singapore uses frozen chicken for KFC as they have to import chickens from Malaysia.

YES, the original/crispy chicken is missing something. It used to be SO good. I don't know what happened to it. I don't know if there's a change in the quality of the chicken, the herbs or the oil. It's different. Not as good as before :( The Gold Spice one is pretty good though.

First, fried chicken is only good when it's eaten freshly deep fried and piping hot. Next, when fresh chicken and not frozen chicken is used, it certainly tastes much better with its natural sweetness. Size of chicken pieces also matters as the chunkier ones tend to be crispy on the outside but succulent and tender on the inside as they don't dry out so fast during deep frying. Lastly is the secret mix of flour, herb and spice coating. Singapore's KFC does not live up to any of these criteria that I'm looking for. I'll rather eat Texas Chicken but the best fried chicken has to be Arnold's Fried chicken which is Singaporean owned.

@iwnl Naha Me too but for some reason here in Australia they’ve named it ‘hot and spicy’ which seems to put a lot of people off. Case in point I have a friend that only eats non spicey food (His name is Andrew but I call him ‘Blandrew’ when it comes to food) anyway I got 9 pieces of ‘Hot and spicey’ when it was on a cheap deal for $9.95 (about $7 US) and told him it was ‘extra crispy’ and he loved it. Then I told him it was actually hot and spicey and he didn’t think it was hot at all. I think KFC actually fucked up with their naming of the extra crispy here as a lot of close minded people won’t even try it because of the name

The KFC grilled chicken is too overpriced. A small thighs cost 9 dollar++ SGD while you can get a whole grilled chicken for only 7 dollar ++ in our local supermarkets.

Great video mate. The Gold Spice Chicken looks absolutely awesome. Shame about the original recipe being so lame. The Colonel would be turning in his grave I'm certain. I'd have to say that all the KFC I've tried abroad has been vastly superior to Australia's present day standard - generally speaking.
