I just think you have cracked it in terms of modelling content on You Tube, great subjects, engaging delivery, and adding details to your builds without going overboard to achieve the results. It’s great that you haven’t gone down the “a build in 20 episode’s” route, but it’s always a good day when you post something new. To be fair if your next one was on “making a sandwich”, I think most people would watch it😂

Silk purse from a sow's ear. The photo etch really helps to add a bit of detail to a lot of very bland surfaces. Maybe a bit of weathering would have been in order, but modeller's choice. A cracking build!

I really wanted this kit when I was a child. but my newsagent rarely stocked kits larger than Airfix Series 2. Christmases and Birthdays slipped by... nothing. I finally got my hands on HMS Fearless last year. Huzza! I am really going to enjoy this one Greg.

Airfix choose as their reference for the helicopters not the Kamov Ka-25 but the Ka- 20, the Ka-25’s prototype. The Ka-20 carried during the 1961 Tushino Air show two dummy missiles. That’s what these parts represent. So you were totally right to remove these parts to depict an Ka-25. Very nice ship btw.

I've just checked from my bedroom window and I'm happy to report The Solent is currently clear of Russian carriers. I've got the Moskva in my stash, and ironically I have a spare set of that White Ensign PE kit. Great build, you've really elevated this old airfix kit. My retirement plan has always been to build the Airfix 1/600 'fleet', I've collected most of them now (accepting that Herald Of Free Enterprise is too rare) and retirement is also getting closer.

I was in the RN when we steamed through the night from Cyprus to catch the Russian Med Fleet unawares at dawn, principally to photograph the then new Moskva at their mooring on a coastal shelf off of Lybia. On board with us were a few 'specialists' that joined us just for this evolution and I remember that they paid to develop any photos we took, on the condition that they kept 'the good ones'.

It's a great build of old kit. It's one of my favorite ship, actually I building one now, but in 1/700, from YG Models. One advice for maybe your future ship builds - paint railings on the fret and add them after painting all ship. It would be easy.

I had almost given up all hope. Search parties had been sent out as well as a major media campaign as to discover your whereabouts. It is now obvious you are incarcerated somewhere, possibly Colditz, the subtle clue being you are building a glider secretly to aid your escape. If you require assistance please use the phrase ‘flat bottom’ in your next video and we’ll send in the S.A.S. Another incredible build though Greg. I have a few ships on the go but all have ground to a halt (run aground?) due to being terrified of doing the photo etch railings. A must for any ship build but also a do or die moment. I never thought of using tape to hold them in place then glue….maybe I’ll dig them out and finally finish them so thanks for the tip.

Excellent job. I’m quite fond of ship models but just looking at those made by other modellers. Too much work and expense for me to do myself. This is mostly down to the photo-etch, invariably, because of the scales involved, you need photo etch to make the model look half-decent, the plastic parts just don’t cut it. But that brings expense with the photo-etch usually costing more than the model, the patience needed to work with such tiny and fragile parts, the delicate handling needed during the build and finally, a display case or cabinet is a must because the model is too fragile to dust. But I really admire the end results of skilled modellers that persevere.
