I GOT A BABY ONE UP IN COLDWATER MICHIGAN ( 5 lakes chained together, found at Krill's Kozy Korner bait n tackle shop area) ONCE WHEN i WAS A BOY SOME 56 YEARS AGO. BIG AS A SILVER DOLLAR. TOOK HIM HOME, HAD HIM 2 YEARS THEN HE GOT OUT OF THE TERRARIUM/AQUARIUM AND LANDED UPSIDE DOWN ON THE HARD FLOOR. DEAD N GONE. STILL MISS THAT THING.

So if a soft shell turtle encountered a gator they wouldn’t use their shell. Would they use speed and camouflage? Or use their claws and beak?
@jonbishop90623 жыл бұрын
Nile Softshells have been filmed using their shell to deflect a Nile Crocodiles bites in order to bury her eggs by the crocodiles nest.

I found a huge turtle stuck on a concrete bridge at about 9:30 AM. in Rogers, AR. This turtle was about 12-14" in length. He had a very leathery shell, massive feet and claws and a long snout. I carried him over to where he could go down a steep grassy hill and man did he take off fast. From what I can tell it was a Midland Smooth Softshell. A guy told me they can really bite and I read the same thing. Do you have any experience with this kind of turtle?

@GregsTurtleHaven3 жыл бұрын
Recap videos because it is too cold to find and film wild turtles right now. I would rather give specific content than no content.
