Hi Greg, are there any aquascape certified contractors in Japan? And would Japan be a good place to keep ponds in backyards with the different seasons?
@GregWittstockThePondGuy5 жыл бұрын
Ryo Watanabe nope. Would be a great place!!!
@chadroy16535 жыл бұрын
That’s where the best koi in world come from, they would never build a pond like this, if you live in Japan you need to get ahold of the farms in you’re backyard and get a real pond built.

Did this really cost $10,000? The guy mentions it does, but that pond and waterfall look a lot more expensive than $10,000.

It’s so great when customers have total faith in your vision and they just let you do your thing. It’s also crazy that my oldest daughter was born 11 years ago during the build of this project. It feels like yesterday.

This was a favorite build for us too Brian!! We enjoyed installing all the hardscapes and the floating stone walk across the pond with much more! Marty and Jan are really great people and are always great to work with!! Another fun fact with this wetland filtered pond is that we performed the first full cleaning after six years of operation and were curious as to how much sludge would be in the bottom of the pond and wetland bog filter? 6 years of operation too without cleaning? After performing a full cleaning, I'm happy to report that we had less than a 5 gallon pail of sludge in the wetland filter! That was an impressive find with a decent fish load and long period without cleaning! The ecosystem and filtration worked incredibly well. Thanks again for the continued friendship Marty and Jan!! We were glad to be a major contributor to this truly amazing landscape and water feature that you have!! Matt Zerby from Wasco Nursey did some incredible planting all throughout too!! It was a great time for Brian and I to build this together back in the day and see his visions combined with incredible hardscapes and massive drainage systems for heavy rains!! There is a wealth of good information in this vlog! I didn't know that goldfish ate koi eggs or that you could remove the dirt when planting impatiens between rocks. I remember this pond well from this year's Pond and Garden walk. I also like the expression of "polished" water! Great post!

Another fabulous video! Greg, Brian, all of AQUASCAPE -WELL DONE!!! :-) Your ability to research, applying the latest in scientific technology, and then fabricate to equal the world of nature - goes beyond all means!! Though this water feature is 11 yrs. old, it was, as can be seen today, way ahead of its time!!

Hey greg. How do I clean string alge it's taking over my pond. I've seen a few stuff online but there pricey and have bad reviews. Some of the products are too expensive for me too. I cleaned my pond down but it grows back. I had have sturgeons die because of them. From. UK

Gorgeous! Greg, I am working on a pond by myself. I will have a little help from my husband but no big equipment. This will be all manual labor from two out-of-shape, middle aged people. I would love to see a video with tips and trips for making the best looking pond with minimal resources. I've done the excavation with a shovel and a pickaxe - but I won't be able to use really big rocks. (I'm considering making a big fake boulder in the landscape - from concrete. But the pond will be limited to boulders I can roll or drag over to the site.) Any pond-building "hacks" for DIYers like me? Thanks!
