Love to learn about the cultural aspects in this video! 👍 Hope you’ll be able to visit the Spice Islands in Indonesia some day. Cheers from South Borneo! 🍻

I'd absolutely love that. I have an idea for a video series about spices. If you have any suggestions: I'm all ears!

@@FirstPiper awesome! Well, our history lessons in Indonesia would start with nutmeg, mace, and cloves which are native to the Spice Islands of Maluku which sparked the Age of Exploration among European colonial powers in the 16th century.

My family on my fathers side came from scotland, my Great Grand mother was scottish.

Oh wow! I love the history of these islands. Whats the surname of your Grand mother?!
@ssu1233 жыл бұрын
@@FirstPiper I have no idea that is the bad thing. She married a man from Barbados who carried the Drayton surname. Her original surname is not known. And on top of that they inturn died when my Grand father and Grand uncle were very young. so all information was lost becuase both were not from Grenada. I am talking 1920s timeline. What i do know is her name was katherine and was proficient in making mattresses.

@@ssu123 Oh, I'm sorry to hear this. I have an idea though - if you'd be interesting in trying to find out more. There is a FB group called "Grenada Genealogical and Historical Society Online" they might be able to help with tracking down names!

@@FirstPiper I am not on Facebook lol. I can seek info from the births and deaths records and also marriage records. But the factor for me is time. Once time permits ill check it out.
