I honestly don't understand the hype behind this film. It just wasn't all that deep or entertaining. Her husband in the film was "understanding" to such an absurd degree that if they included a scene where he's being literally cuckolded, it wouldn't surprise me. And the ending was boring, anticlimactic and unsatisfactory. I get that it's supposed to be grounded in reality to contrast it with other romantic flics, but what's her happy ending? She gets to stay with her lame boring simpy husband that she's gonna divorce in a few years and the Korean dude goes back to his own doomed relationship? Lame

In your comment, you inadvertently revealed so much about your own nature-- your emotional insecurities, fears and limitations-- I felt uncomfortable for you, as though if you'd known just how revealing you were being, you'd be horrified.

It always surprised me to see how many people disliked this film but at least I’m thankful that you didn’t straight up insult it. About the film, like you said it might feel unsatisfactory to some, and I’d argue that it’s the point. Well not because the film itself is unsatisfactory, but it’s life. It’s about all the what if’s we have in life, the chances that we passed up, do we regret what we chose and what we have? The emotions are raw and complicated, and the chracters portrayed it well and none of them were pictured as an “evil” one. The husband is actually much more mature that you might think. He’s being honest and open about his feelings and insecurities. It’s not black and white, nor a traditional happy/sad ending moive. For me and really many people who are just so cynical about the blatant/political messages that movies are trying to spoon feed us and shove into our faces, this is a gem
