Can you PLEASE invite fellow youtuber Mamrie Hart to be a part of an upcoming Retro Review? She recently hosted a web series called "This Might Get" and there is an episode where she's talking about Problematic Rom-Com Movies from her childhood. She's hilarious and I think you guys would have GREAT chemistry together! Not to mention that she probably would make you a fabulous drink in the process. ;)

theory 1 is that shes hungarian as a reference to elizabeth bathory, who i believe kidnapped virgin girls for their blood. theory 2 is that it's a deep cut joke about how eva gabor sounded so hungarian but played a french cat in aristocats, and now someone sounding so french is playing a hungarian. maybe some kind of satire? i dont know but i'm here for any gabor reference.

Unrelated but I just had to tell you guys about an interactive viewing of Clue that a library that I work at put on. It was hosted by a local drag queen and involved props and lots of silly fun. My supervisor let me attend even though I was on the clock and half the staff attended because we have our priorities straight.

Speaking of Isabelle Huppert, please do a RetroReview of 8 Women for Christmas. It's an all-female ensemble cast that includes both Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Huppert, among other big French names, and it mixes farce, melodrama, musical, and murder-mystery film. It'll satisfy your needs of both Huppert and camp.

My way to fix this movie is... 1) Greta pretends she used to work at French vogue 2) Lose the sappy dog angle and make Chloe and her Kim Basinger hair want to schmooze Greta to get into the fashion industry 3) Greta shows off her fabulous wardrobe and tells Chloe her returned bag is Vintage Dior and very rare 4) Chloe finds the bags (no post-its) and is disturbed Greta is lying to her 5) No one else gives a shit about the bag clue and she tries to forget about it in the hopes of getting her 'in' into modelling 6) Greta gives her a makeover and tells her to lose the KB hair she gets a pixie cut 7) Things proceed in a similar way but poor Samantha in the bag also has a pixie cut 8) Now the Hungarian thing makes sense as being French is all part of her alias as a fashion journalist. Boom. Now the movie makes a lot more sense and you can have some high camp makeover montages in your horror film. My work here is done.

The best part of the film was Greta's restaurant tantrum/meltdown. The second act dragged and the ending was oh-so Hollywood. Frances played the victim to the point of mild outrage. She cut Greta's finger off, knocks her out but doesn't finish the job and runs into the basement. The 'slow fade' usually fails with stalkers also. That was the dumbest move made in the film.

This movie didn’t really interest me judging by your review, maybe it should have been more like the j-horror movie, audition. If you have no idea what I’m talking about. Audition is a movie by Takashi Miike, who I call the Japanese cronenburg except more fucked up. It’s about a widower who decides to get back into the dating scene and holds fake auditions to me the right girl and meets the seemingly right girl, but oh boy! She’s not! Granted that movie is more body horror but it still has the same what the fuck elements you were talking about. I think this movie was trying to be hereditary but not....
