Greta Van Fleet aren’t proof rock is alive. There are tons of 60s/70s style bands that are far superior and vastly more unique than these Zep knockoffs. GVF are for people who like classic rock but aren’t into seeking out what is out there; for those waiting to be fed by the pop industry with something they like, or to casually run into music while listening to radio and other dumbed-down media. For far, far better classic-influenced rock listen to Graveyard, Lucifer, Uncle Acid, The Devil and the Almighty Blues, Kadavar. The Zep/classic rock cosplay of GVF will become more apparent when you listen to the aforementioned bands and the like. Context is everything. GVF sounds good to those who think the only music options are what’s on the charts. Ignore the charts, ignore radio, ignore award shows, ignore Rolling Stone, Spin and big music sites. Using those outdated sources leads you to mediocre music. Go down your own music rabbit holes.

And honestly, the singer is ripping Robert Plant off too so honestly the same can be said for all of them. That's the only thing they're equal in, their capacity for ripping off LZ which are categorically a better band from an era where this sound was actually unique, fresh and new. This band is bottom feeder music for bottom feeders.

I discovered Greta Van Fleet recently. Shame on me, but in France they are not famous. Since i've discovered them, they are very often in my car, in my house etc etc thanks to Spotify. I wish they came one day to make a tour in our country. We have wonderful festivals like "John Beauregard" which received this year famous groups like Muse and many others rock groups. This could be a very great opportunity for us to see them "in real".
