That's an SG, you can slam that puppy around and still hammer nails with it. Built for this type of music. I had two of them in the early eighties. Some of that tone comes from his right hand also. One of the more important features of playing a lot of players neglect. Gibson SGs are like beasts. You have to control that beast by letting that leash out its breaking point.

@@Man_fay_the_Bruagree.. im 60 and a musician in several bands. ive followed them from the beginning more as a music project i guess :) . im hoping his guitar playing will get a little less choppy and a little more stretched out as they progress. his riffs feel like half of a riff sometimes. but the band is sometimes able to create that "take me away" feeling you want from a concert and that covers some of it. and yup they sound like zep.. but lots of bands have and do and young folks dont care so i think they will be fine there. we will see :)

The only one who is even remotely talented is the singer. What he has can't be taught. The rest of the band are generic, knockoff versions of LZ. And honestly, the singer is ripping Robert Plant off too so honestly the same can be said for all of them. I was literally thinking about how I am not excited for that day when he ends up kinda like Axel Rose where he used to be able to hit all those high notes until it became so damaging to his vocal chords that you can pretty much hear it in his voice now..Hope that doesn't happen with Josh which if he is using his vocal chords in the right way then it wouldn't sound too bad like Axels but I can't promise. I'm not an expert but that's just my observation

@@CarlosLiberated that's true. He seems to know his voice so well to know what works and what doesn't, I mean you don't see him jumping around or running which is great to me personally. It really helps maintain the vocals to reach the notes and especially where his vocals are you reallyyyy especially need to. The thing is we don't know how often he smokes cause I know he did that in that one video. Maybe would keep that to a minimum to low cause that for certain will affect both lungs and vocals

I discovered Greta Van Fleet recently. Shame on me, but in France they are not famous. Since i've discovered them, they are very often in my car, in my house etc etc thanks to Spotify. I wish they came one day to make a tour in our country. We have wonderful festivals like "John Beauregard" which received this year famous groups like Muse and many others rock groups. I appreciate the enthusiasm but with all due respect, there are tons of more awesome rock groups in the 21st century. Gretta Van Fleet's purpose as it stands is to serve fans that have no former introduction to rock music or ppl who are nostalgic for the 70s. Take a band like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard who were established in the 2010s and are absolutely killing it with 2-3 albums per year of fantastic forward thinking music. Always reinventing themselves. Now put them next to Gretta Van Fleet. It's like watching a child box and adult. Music is no competition but the difference in quality is astronomical. There's no harm in enjoying whatever you like but please don't spew that nonsense.

@@casuallabour665 I’m sorry, I have seen king gizzard live. Very repetitive band. Their songs are made of the same measure repeated 150 times in a song. No wonder they put out 2/3 albums a year, the creativity rate is the same of a band who writes way more complex songs and put out a record out every 3 years. So please YOU don’t put KG next to blues rockers GVF. King Gizzard is an intellectual exercise, using micro tonal music but then repeating the same phrase over and over and over again in a song. If that is your idea of forward thinking music, happy for you, but the result is not mind blowing, they are skilled tho.

And yes, King Gizzard are trying something new every album unlike GVF who regurgitate music from 60 years ago without any improvement or touch of their own. Of course experimental music is always going to make people feel uneasy. Someone has to do it. The music is repetitive because it's suited for club dancing. Just like with house music. That's their style unlike GVF who don't have one. They bring nothing to the table and are also pricks for not mentioning Led Zeppelin once as their influence even though the question arose many times before. They even say that they sound nothing like led zeppelin!!!!!! I know that led zep were heavy rip-offers but they were being themselves at least. You know those teen movies where high school girls impersonate the popular kids to get attention? That's GVF! Sure, they're touring and selling stadiums while I'm in my bedroom typing on youtube but to say that they're "singlehandedly" bringing rock music back to life?! AS IF there haven't been countless epic bands since the 70s. That's what ticks me off.
