Greta Van Fleet aren’t proof rock is alive. There are tons of 60s/70s style bands that are far superior and vastly more unique than these Zep knockoffs. GVF are for people who like classic rock but aren’t into seeking out what is out there; for those waiting to be fed by the pop industry with something they like, or to casually run into music while listening to radio and other dumbed-down media. For far, far better classic-influenced rock listen to Graveyard, Lucifer, Uncle Acid, The Devil and the Almighty Blues, Kadavar. The Zep/classic rock cosplay of GVF will become more apparent when you listen to the aforementioned bands and the like. Context is everything. GVF sounds good to those who think the only music options are what’s on the charts. Ignore the charts, ignore radio, ignore award shows, ignore Rolling Stone, Spin and big music sites. Using those outdated sources leads you to mediocre music. Go down your own music rabbit holes.

Biggest poser band that has ever taken the stage. Gives Zeppelin a bad name. Little rich kids that parents are in the music industry and hooked them up. 276k bands in the continental United States that are beyond talented far more than these guys that will never be discovered and this is what they give us. Goes to show you can suck to high heaven and still be put into the lead. Play it enough and a simpleton will say, “ yeah i guess they sound ok”. Not!!!!

That's an SG, you can slam that puppy around and still hammer nails with it. Built for this type of music. I had two of them in the early eighties. Some of that tone comes from his right hand also. One of the more important features of playing a lot of players neglect. Gibson SGs are like beasts. You have to control that beast by letting that leash out its breaking point.

@@Man_fay_the_Bruagree.. im 60 and a musician in several bands. ive followed them from the beginning more as a music project i guess :) . im hoping his guitar playing will get a little less choppy and a little more stretched out as they progress. his riffs feel like half of a riff sometimes. but the band is sometimes able to create that "take me away" feeling you want from a concert and that covers some of it. and yup they sound like zep.. but lots of bands have and do and young folks dont care so i think they will be fine there. we will see :)

@@ethanreed8400 This band even ripped off the clothing from the timeline of Led Zeppelin. It is absolutely the most shameless plagiaristic band that ever existed and people like it because it's nostalgic for them. Honestly if you want a LZ fix, go listen to LZ. They did it better, they were more culturally significant in their respective time period, and it was 100% original back then. @@CarlosLiberated that's true. He seems to know his voice so well to know what works and what doesn't, I mean you don't see him jumping around or running which is great to me personally. It really helps maintain the vocals to reach the notes and especially where his vocals are you reallyyyy especially need to. The thing is we don't know how often he smokes cause I know he did that in that one video. Maybe would keep that to a minimum to low cause that for certain will affect both lungs and vocals

The only one who is even remotely talented is the singer. What he has can't be taught. The rest of the band are generic, knockoff versions of LZ. And honestly, the singer is ripping Robert Plant off too so honestly the same can be said for all of them. That's the only thing they're equal in, their capacity for ripping off LZ which are categorically a better band from an era where this sound was actually unique, fresh and new. This band is bottom feeder music for bottom feeders.

I discovered Greta Van Fleet recently. Shame on me, but in France they are not famous. Since i've discovered them, they are very often in my car, in my house etc etc thanks to Spotify. I wish they came one day to make a tour in our country. We have wonderful festivals like "John Beauregard" which received this year famous groups like Muse and many others rock groups. This could be a very great opportunity for us to see them "in real".
