I love this guitar... Eddie´s always been my Idol, and I got my G5120 modified with the Pickups that eddie put on his G6120. Still searching for a golden B6 with a fixed Handle ;-)

Eddie didn't put the metal nut on the guitar they all came with a metal nut cause Chet Atkins felt it gave the guitars more sustain.

on the p90 made such a huge difference for me! 10 QUARTER TURNS to the left each and voila!!

The guy doing this demo has the USA view of Eddie-hardly knows who he was , whereas in the UK he's a legend, the man who brought ROCK music to the UK , as opposed to rock n roll. Yes the guitar is pricey, but the guy was so special it makes the cost a little irrelevant.....like the way the p90 is under the pickguard , a nice detail no I cant really afford one but good on Fender/Gretsch doing this model.....Eddie and Clarence White the best two guitar players ever !!

Why don't they string these guitars up with flat wounds? That's what Eddie used.

no he never ......Eddie used rounds.......he would never have been able to get the sound he did with flat wounds

He definitely doesn't know a thing about Eddie Cochran.. Most the wear and tear on the original guitar isn't even from Eddie. It's from other people playing it through the years and it being stored away.

sorry but the gretsch stay at Cochran home from his death. Alice Cochran (eddie's mother) keep it in the condition of 1960.

+Leonard Michalon Still others have played it since and she has been gone since the early 90's.

Alice died in 1992. I know that whilst she was alive, she did let visitors to her home, fans of Eddie, hold the guitar. Not sure about playing it though. It was in the car when they crashed, but luckily was protected by the case. The problem I have is, the guitar is a 1956 made guitar, and there's no proof that the guitar today is in the same condition as when Eddie last played it in April 1960. The paint cracking reproduction... It probably wasn't like that when Eddie was alive and its happened over the years of being in a display case, etc. Id love one of the guitars, but too expensive.

@@davidgarswood3483 Hi Dave, I thought it was a '55 , I know its splitting hairs!....somewhere on here I've seen a invoice which is a shipping note with the guitars serial no and details when it was returned to Ed's mum . Your right Alice, who was a very proud mum did let fans hold the guitar , theres a bloke called Allan Clark who seems a bit of a groupie musician seemed to pop round to see Alice on a weekly basis to have his photo taken with the guitar !
@vintagebrew10574 жыл бұрын
T'other musicians said Eddie kept his guitar in tip top shape always clean and polished. The Alan Clark comment made me laugh. I must confess, if I'd popped in to see Shrimper, I too would have tried to get my paws on Eddie's Gretsch, for sentimental reasons.

Yup, way, way, well overpriced. Natch, cynical Fender marketing at work. Not so great either when the ES137 is on the loose baby...!
