We know Gretsch does clean as well as anyone, and classic rock too, and blues...but here we veer into heavy rovk and metal territory. And guess what? It sounds great! These P90T pickups are really beefy.

Nice playing Damon. I definitely need one now. Here in Canada they're not available yet. Some online Canadian stores expect them late summer early fall. I also agree about the scratchplate being taken off.

I'd REALLY LIKE to see what that guitar sounds like with Dynasonic pickups in it. I can't find the video you mentioned that you said you would do with the pickups swapped. I really hope you get a chance to do it.

Gretsch pickups. I have never been dissapointed with them. These sound spot on. I would only mod different guitars. But never a gretsch. They know a few things about pickup building.

Well the P90s really make it a rock machine, that's for sure. I won't make a fuss about your decision to swap them out. We guitar players tend to do things like that and I'll be interested in hearing the results.

Hey Damon... Nice playing. I always watch your vids about gretsch gear. Love it. I would like to by another gretsch. Now the decission is between the rally 2 or the p90 loaded jet. I like the hilos but the jet looks so sweet. Is the output of the p90 much higher? I cant test in the near i live. Would be interested which of these two beautys are better for blues and low gain music.. Greetz from germany

Hi there. The p90's are way hotter and fatter than the Rally pickups. But the Rally does have a real vintage Gretsch vibe to it, so it's really about application and what you are going to play on it. I love the rally, I've used it on gigs and sessions where I've need a real 60's kinda tone, but the Jet is more usable as an everyday guitar.

Really nice. Gretsch always seems to overdeliver at reasonable pricing. Did you remove the pickguard yourself? Looks way cooler sans scratchplate.

Hi there. Thanks for watching. I did take the scratch plate off. Looks much cooler I think.

Also I'm torn about taking off the pickguard on my vintage white. On the one hand the pickguard is too small and the wrong shape (IMHO). On the other hand the guitar looks kinda naked without it.😅
