I just got a Renown kit, same sizes as yours. Mine came with clear Emperors on the tom tops and a Powerstroke on the kick.... I changed the front to an Onyx front head and and Emad kick side, kept the Emperors.....killer sound!!!!! Mine is Natural gloss.....

I just purchased this kit in fusion sizes and really struggling with tunning. The 302 hoops are super stiff and I’m finding it hard to get good tone since one lug has such a big effect on the others. I’ve only played triple flanged hoops up to this point. You have the kit tuned great. Any feedback?

For my kit and my preferred sound, I have the heads tuned quite low and with the reso head a very slightly higher pitch than the batter. I also use a DrumDial to try to make the tension as even as possible across all the lugs. These two toms, the 12” and 14”, respond really well to the low tuning. I’ve actually never tried any higher tunings because that’s not my sound. For your fusion kit are you going after a higher, more sustain heavy sound?

@@aaronterry7612 Honestly, it changes all the time based on the room, the temperature, how shot my heads are, etc. Both toms tend to have a sweet spot around 70-75 on the drum dial.
