Truly one of the most underrated bands of all time.

I remember very specifically me being 18 in 2000. this band playing at Chain Reaction in Anaheim Ca. Dancing with my friends to every song the weakerthans played. Love that memory.

As much as I love first couple albums, I actually think Propagandhi and John were better off with out each other. I think they got much, much better after he left, and w/out him leaving......no Weakerthans!
@capnspong8 жыл бұрын
I always loved listening to the audio when he gives Ernesto the chance to come do a solo, and his victorious yell of "Ernesto!" at 50:46, but this is my first time watching the video, and seeing him watching and smiling from the crowd at ~50:00 is really something else. John K Samson is a really special human being.

I've listened to this album so many times, and I am constantly blown away, A) by Ernesto's raw talent in the face of overwhelming odds, and B) the band's extraordinary ability to blend with his more amateur skill level and make the entire arrangement sound so beautiful as a whole.

Virtue The Cat Explaings Her Departure always brings years to my eyes. It reminds me of multiple cats I have had over the years. I had a cat who lost the tips of her ears due to a terrible winter storm. I had a cat who had a special sound that I "found for her" that would always bring her running. I miss them all. I found this song shortly after the cat that had the "special sound" was killed by a car and it's torn me up ever since.

This dive is the St. Charles Hotel in downtown Winnipeg, the site of the former Wellington's (immortalized in Wellington's Wednesdays) and a short walk to Canada's most famous intersection of Portage & Main. The Burton Cummings Theatre where this concert was held is the square brown building with the white movie projector mural visible in the background. www.google.ca/maps/@49.8956116,-97.1406807,3a,75y,310.86h,95.84t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sICgn7v-M4HwCgL2CzDZfwA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

Hey fellows, after reading all the comments today (i'm not a "real youtuber" or sth.) i decided to reupload and encode the show from scratch. Since i realized the aspect ratio was fairly off and upscaling is a thing today, you may want to see the "new" one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoawZIFmmZmZpaM. Have fun and happy easter.

No need to hunt. The CD/DVD Package should still be available. Released 2010 on Anti: "Weakerthans: Live At The Burton Cummings Theatre 2009". I uploaded this 2011, so i could maybe try a "remaster" in better quality now. But though, i have no property rights of course so maybe it's ok as it is.
