Awesome footage mark...people miss so much when not an angler...what we see and we take for granted these days after years of fishing...lovely birds i used to live near a tributary to the vywnwy and in the oaks was a heronry...was amazing to watch ...spot on mark !!

@@MarkCarp i had a kingfisher on my rod at weekend but soon as go to take a photo it flew off hah but i have got footage of a sparrow hawk in my garden eating a thrush which was good i may upload that 👍👍

indeed it is tom, the heron is a sight I see regularly, they can be quite shy though, luckily this one stayed a while and caught some tiddlers👍🎣😁

yeah they seemed to have increased in numbers in recent years, I live in a town with no waters around me and I still see them, they visit peoples garden ponds a lot👍😁

Was watching one on the canal its beautiful sometimes I enjoy watching nature more than the fishing.

there are quite a few videos on youtube of them taking ducklings, rats, mice and even rabbits, they are ruthless predators gaz, I didn't realise just how good they are at hunting, it's no wonder they are doing so well👍

I see all sorts whilst i'm out Darren, a lot of the time i'm either too slow to get to the camera in time or I move suddenly and the chance is gone, a few months back I had a stoat walk straight past me, he walked through the gap between my chair and my rucksack which was about 6 inches and straight past my feet, by time i'd reached for the camera he'd legged it. I've lost count of the number of kingfishers I've missed too, they are so shy, one movement and off they go👍😁
