Hey NL, a couple tips (if you'd like them) for the Necromancer: 1. Attack speed is super useful, it affects how quickly you summon new skellys 2. If you do a few runs as another class to collect some resources and unlock the forest cards, they have insanely good synergy with the necromancer. I won't spoil beyond that but it's pretty nuts. 3. You're right on necromancers not doing well against a lot of enemies (in most cases), pretty much any enemies with high speed will cut him down fast as you can't usually keep up the summoning. Also just a general tip for the game that I've found useful, if you have some patience with placing the enemy spawning tiles (like groves and such), rather than placing them as soon as you pick them up, the early loops are much easier and allow you to build up some solid loot without getting overwhelmed by large packs before you've established some good stats from your gear. Really enjoying the content so far btw, love this game!

@@maxmillian8375 it’s pretty important as it makes max skeletons more valuable by reducing the amount of time between summons, and skeletons are pretty fragile so summoning them faster mid combat against stronger enemies really helps. He died to the boss last video because he wasn’t able to summon skeletons fast enough.

It does grind my gears when the characters don't stay on the same target, especially when its a golem or vampire... now when the enemy does it though-

The worst is when the character decides to focus the quest enemy first, regardless of HP amount. Focusing an 800 hp bloodclot that dodges every 3rd attack instead of the 3 spiders or ratwolfs that have 120hp and do more damage grinds my gears so hard. I get that it's an auto battler, but c'mon man - you always kill the ads first! That's like, adventuring 101!

Got a couple of tips if you're interested, free of spoilers: - The hero has a Stamina bar which depletes slightly whenever you attack or evade. If it fully runs out, you get a debuff which ruins your bonus attack speed and evasion until it fully recharges again. If you have a very high evasion build and fight against a large number of fast-attack enemies (spiders or worms) you'll probably end up noticing how hard this debuff can hinder you. - Don't be afraid to retreat to camp when you have found good stuff (supplies you like, or large amount of resources), I've died an embarrassing number of times in encounters where I had full hp and potions because the enemies surprised me with how much of a fight they put back. If a village quest (or multiple quests!) lands on a very tough fight (tanky enemy, or a very large fight) its usually a good signal to maybe retreat. - If you wanna farm resources, I recommend playing chapter 2 over chapter 1 because of the doubled resource cap and increased resource gains, even if you've no plan to fight the boss. - If you wanna maximize the HP gain from mountains, use only rocks for making the 3x3 Mountain Peak and save the mountain tiles to put around it. - Most enemy types can't walk onto a normal village tile. If you put a Blood Grove adjacent to a village you can still benefit from the aura effect without the flesh golems being able to spawn on that tile. This is especially relevant directly before the campfire tile, because a quest target flesh golem can halve your HP and consume your potions before a bossfight if you lack the DPS. - The above village tip also works for making Goblin Camps a non-issue, meaning you can save your Oblivion cards for other stuff. - You can Obliviate a vampire mansion after it turns a village into ransacked village, it doesn't mess with the village but makes the fights against the ghouls easier. - If the game is too slow for your liking, you can edit a textfile in the installation folder to bump up the FPS cap (gameplay speed is tied to game framerate, which is capped to 60 by default). This affects the combat speed too!

@@TheDilla Starting in chapter 2 you can spawn a vampire mage when the area for a depleted bookery and vampire mansion overlap. Those vampire mage's can drop the shards for the cosmic orbs.

If your going for an infinite run remember to obliterate your skeleton camps once you hit around the 20th loop. I had a run where I had a 5k magic health shield, because it would take me around 5-10 minutes to kill 1 skeleton camp. While spider camps would take at most 20 seconds.

Yeah I'm pretty confident that Skeleton Quality is the Necromancer's "god stat". For instance, in the Lich fight: once he targets you he won't untarget, and will continue to attack you instead of your skellies until you die... unless you summon a Skeleton Guard, which will FORCE him to re-target onto it until it dies. After the guard dies, he might target you again, but he might target one of the other skellies instead, and either way you've got another chance to summon another Guard. Once you've got 3 quality-boosting items, you want max number up to at least 3 and ideally 4+, and only then do you want attack speed and skeleton level. (I like to make the Grimoire my non-quality item, because being able to swap that freely lets my Skeleton Level scale better).

Road lanterns and leaving an empty square between groves really helped me. Less enemies per square = win. This is especially true for necromancer who does not have attack all.

Honestly rock/mountain synergy doesnt matter much. At most it will earn you 100 more max Hp. What matters in this game is time management. BEWARE SPOILER AHEAD ON HOW TO WIN EZ. You want to have as many fight as possible per loop (weaker monsters and weaker boss on low loop). For that you want to spend as many day as possible/loop. So walking slowly = killing monsters slowly. Often the best strat is to not wield a weapon on firsts loops and only focuse on vampirism/regen/defense to make fight last longer so that day passes. As day passes more monsters spawn, yielding more cards/loop and more experience. Cemetery and spiders are especially goood : spiders to get a lot of cards on first and second loop, skeletons to get good gear on loop 2. Speeding up spawn with chrono crystals and time tower will allow you to fight boss on loop 4. Late game towns will make you lvl up at lightspeed. And oasis will make the fights easy. Basically with enough oasis it makes your own attack speed get double the effect. (dunes areX2 by the rivers, everyone base speed gets to 0.5. So relatively à +10% speed boost becomes 20%) and the oasis itself gives you magic damage. GG EZ game. ^^

You can get up to 6 Meadows around each Treasury if you put the two [any other tile]s directly next to the Treasury, so that the three form a horizontal or vertical line. In addition to getting those Meadows out faster, it lets you keep more of your Rocks by your Mountains or your Forests by your Rivers or whatever.

Those “hungry groves” is because they do damage to you when you don’t put a grove directly adjacent to a blood grove even if it connects to another blood grove, so that is also hurting you when fighting the boss

By far the strongest Necro build I've had was 4 Max skeles, 40-60% Attack Speed, 80+% Summon quality; with the 15% skeleton counter attack and heal on skeleton death talents. I could summon skeletons slightly faster than the boss could kill them and every time he killed them I healed. Worked out loverly. You can also stack up some pretty ludicrous regen (I topped out at 10/sec before regearing). Pair it with a decent bubble and you're pretty much unkillable.

As a YT watcher I'm really loving the addition of twitch streams. The chat keeps the cometary super dynamic and I imagine they just enjoy being a bigger part of the content in general. I know you've mentioned liking the progressive addition of twitch over time and just yeah, it's working out absurdly well. Hey NL, I've found that getting Blood Groves on the inside of bends (like just north of the ruins a 6:35) is good as you can then get it to affect a lot of enemies. Also I found out recently that you want to spend rocks to make your Mountain Peak rather than mountains as the 9 tiles all turn into the same thing no matter the composition, this lets you use the mountains after and you will end up with more HP from the cards.

you really need to get the ancestral home if you want the necromancer to be any good, the hp is just too low without it. maybe take the warrior and grind up to it for a couple more runs along with the library for some sweet lore and info and you'll be stomping with the necromancer in no time.

The Necromanser is actually good vs a lot of enemies (vampire with ghouls for example), BUT he is bad vs Spiders, because they slow your attack speed making you spawn skeletons slower.

Summon quality is your chance to summon a special skeleton. The mage is the special version of the archer, so you'll need to be able to get out 5 at once and then have the quality trigger. That said, if you do it right, you shouldn't need any ranged ones before most fights end.

NL, I've found that attack speed is CRAZY powerful. I'd try to mainline building construction until you can build a forest (and then get Forest/Thicket cards). I've had some builds where I'm running around with 200% attack speed and can just steamroll any group of enemies before they can get a hit or two off.

How to beat the game while min maxing and using 2/4 of your brain: Spam warrior with chrono crystal plus mountain and meadows to farm materials for unlocking forest. The other two classes aren't really viable until you get forest unless your gear is beyond amazing. Necro just flat out isn't that good until you get forest + river (their good for rushing bosses, but trash mobs can obliterate you). Slow summoning speed means your gonna take way too long to loop compared to a warrior with retaliate and a regen build. While rogue require very specific decks to make them shine when you don't have forest. And thin out your deck a lot of the monster tiles in the game currently aren't viable in ch 2+ too much RNG based abilities and crits that could instantly ruin your run if your unlucky. Btw this is all based on the assumption you have unlocked Arsenal. And your running a max health build with your camp supply. I won against the final boss with around 2k+ health on necromancer (you need the skeletons deaths heal you and share your damage) and rogue (1-5% chance of dealing 1k damage + revive with 85% of your health from cemetery) I would recommend having at least that amount of health before even fighting him. TIPS: Remember to obliterate the ?villages? when your on a rogue or warrior. Forge is also an amazing card if you have the camp upgrade that makes crossbowmen join you in fight taking place next to your campfire. Makes bosses easier and gives you a free lot bag every few loops.

Using grey Items with Necromancer even higher level doesn't benefit him as much as other classes, All other classes can specialize into something since grey item on evasion will be like +20%, same orange item will be like 10% + other stats . BUT Necromancer is benefiting with going wide since his skills hardly scale with item level. Skeleton Quality is top at 29%, so most of the time ring level 5 and ring level 10 will have 1% difference between them. Same goes for other stats since Necromancer doesn't have big boosts for stats from items, like maximum evasion bonus is 10%, maximum bonus skeleton level is like 1.5... the only one Exception then Grey can be better is books.

since he wants backseeting: - having higher level loot equiped gives you higher level loot from monsters etc. (faster scaling) - having a long line of villages before the campfire for a stacked heal seems better, because you get the healing before the boss - as long as you have a high evade stat the lich boss should be no problem in any run - you dont really need the lanturn as the necromancer if you just space the monster camps a little bit - if you stack farms and villages put the farms at the end because they are more common - you can put treasuries on the corner of the trail so you save some cards that being said love the content and the game

You shouldn't feel too bad about getting the warrior loot you can't use at the start. When you have too much loot to hold, the excess isn't just discarded, it gets recycled into resources. That means the free starting loot, even if you can't use it, is just free resources. That also means you should be more careful about swapping out equipment for things that aren't meaningfully different (i.e. a same level amulet that just gives 1 extra magic hp), because swapping out equipment isn't free - it effectively costs you resources every time you do it.

Necromancer is an interesting class as you relied on your summoning which depends on the skeleton level to get stronger. I found that using the arsenal is better bcs you can put extra slot which can give bonus to max skeleton. The problem with this class tho for me is that if I dont get the right skills (like 20% chance to summon two skeletons) I died at higher loop :(

You're throwing away the summon quality, where it appears it has breakpoints where it unlocks stronger skeletons. You have swapped 25% of that on a ring for some skeleton level and your normal skeletons are so much weaker than claw and shield ones it's just visible. Besides, shield skeletons tank hits for you and they would let you survive the boss fight... if you could even summon them and it appears you need around 40%+ quality to do so while at 60% you most often got one in your first 3 summons. Also, if you get enough chance to get Shield skeletons, you don't need to just slap a fat magic hp to your necklace because you basically invested in health through skeleton quality.

Yo, Northernlion please try a rogue or warrior build with ruins and villages. Enemies cant spawn on villages so you can basically ensure ruin worms wont trash you in a fight in the third row. Also you can always save oblivion to kill off bandit camps straight away.

An actual tip: stop cramming your mountain into the corner, leave at least a bit of space around it. The mega mountain gives a good adjacency bonus and the whole ring around it is a good place to put normal rocks for stacking HP. Putting it in the corner wastes half of the opportunity.

I've found spiders aren't good to fight as the necromancer due to their high dps. Same goes for the ratwolves, plus the blood grove is a nonbo with necromancer since the grove tries to eat the skeletons. Enemy skeletons however work well, as do the enemies that spawn from placing forest.

NL, try to pop the treasures at the beginning of loops so you get better gear for your hero. Also I tried to min-max the deck like you did, more often than not you don't get enough monster spawning cards to get more kills and better loot, so bringing the minimum number of cards might not be a good strat for this game

Feel spiders should always be in deck for items/cards/generally easy to kill. That second run had no monsters spawning which is why it was so slow and not much scaling.

Advice 1: If you put swamp next to a vampire house, the vampire hurt themselves from lifesteal. Advice 2: Should focus blood grove where monsters are early on and not put them near fireplace as most run will not result in you fighting the boss anyways.

Man. This game is so cursed. I love watching it, and I love the idea conceptually, but when I play it, the enemies refuse to drop gear so I'm running around in level 1 grays on loop 4 and getting fucking trucked. Which feels bad.

I would like to point out that loot scales with what your fighting, if the hardest thing in your deck is a ratwolf your loot will be garbage.

I don’t really know anything about the game - but if you can place wheat fields on either sides of villages shouldn’t you place villages with two tiles between them? (For more wheat fields)

Not really, cuz if u have 2 villages touching a wheat field, both villages get the benefit. That's even better because u don't flood the Boss meter.

If you want the lich to attack your skeletons, you might want skeleton quality so you can get the tank that'll get aggro.

He was basically maxed on skele quality my guy. Every decision was made to maximize that stat.
