I think a grove+blood grove near a ransacked village will help prevent the ghouls from feeding on each other's corpse as the corpses get eaten by the blood grove effect.

Hey NL, for the treasury you can put two rocks on opposite sides and then use six meadows to pop it and get adjacencies on all of them, like so: MMM RTR MMM Slightly more efficient layout so you can use more rocks for more HP adjacencies I think

The second boss is really hard to beat with out Forests (giving attack speed) or using the Necromancer who can use skeletons to break the stained glass. I am loving this series and loop hero is very rapidly becoming one of my favorite games to both play and watch!

As the warrior and necromancer, I recommend battle fields and ruins if you want consistently good loot. As the rouge, you want cards that can spawn lots of enemies, like spider cocoons, since their loot is based off of kills. Also, try a defense build with the warrior. When you get to 50+ defense, enemies do next to no damage, even on higher loops (The only exception is the boss, they always hit hard).

The loot for the treasury filling is scaling with the loop number, so it makes sense to keep it at 1 field missing until you are really going to leave.

Loving the series NL but I have a couple little tips: -Having a Blood Grove near the ransacked village makes it so they can't consume the corpse for heals. -Placing Villages near almost any monsters denies their spawn, you can use place a village adjacent to the Goblin camps if you don't have Oblivion to deny their spawning. -You can mouse over monsters and it'll tell you their type, if they have a soul, etc. -Beacon is helpful, it just speeds up the game and increases your attack speed and if I'm not mistaken it does NOT affect the boss so it's useful for beating them up.

So probably late because this is twitch and I don't know what the backlog is BUT; Counter isn't actually that bad with this character specifically. This character is a tanky boi, but he doesn't deal too much damage. Counter is basically better Damage to All stat because it directly scales with your weapon damage. Would you rather have 15 damage to all on your slow boi's attacks, or have a 30% chance to smack the enemy for 80 damage when they hit you, and you're in a fight with 4 spiders? There's another mechanic to consider which probably hasn't affected you too much, but there's actually a stamina bar mid fight. The little gray bar under your health bar that you probably never notice. If you run out of stamina, you get a massive reduction in attack speed and evasion until it refills completely. For the rogue, you can push really fast attack speed because they have critical hits and two weapons meaning enemies just melt, but the warrior isn't going to benefit nearly as much from attack speed while still emptying his stamina just as fast. A counter hit actually doesn't drain any stamina though. Is it good against the bosses? No idea. But it's great for farming. Better damage to all, doesn't drain stamina, warrior is slow.

I think the problem is counter usually isnt vying for a position against damage to all/magic damage but against evasion/vampirism. then you have to ask yourself would i rather have an effective 10%dps increase per enemy or would i rather prevent damage 10% of the time? Counter synergizes well if you get it WITH vampirism but its so hard to swing that and synergizes less well with anything else. The mental overhead of the counter math+the relatively low payout+the amount you need to force a synergy makes it not very worth it most of the time.

Wrong. Counter uses stamina, and resets your attack timer. Damage to all does not effect stamina, and procs on every hit/counter. As such, damage to all is always vastly superior to counter. Ideally, you want a little bit of both, but heavily favoring damage to all. Especially since you likely are going up against 4-5 enemies per tile late game. The only time you really want more counter over damage to all is when you know you are soloing tough enemies, or a boss that doesnt benefit from damage to all.

NL, you should place Blood Groves so they cover as many tiles as possible (in corners and such). That means that more enemies can be covered by the "devoured by the grove" effect (also letting you place more enemies to get more loot safely), but also decreases your odds of getting 2 Flesh Golems on the same tile. Also, Graveyards are your friend: Skeletons are tough, but drop better loot, and they're slow enough that you can usually kill at least one of them before they attack. Last but not least, you should place more Groves! Wood is hard to come by until you unlock the Forest tile, and Rat-Wolves drop better loot than Spiders/Slimes!

For a treasury you can do 6 meadows and 2 rocks and it fertilizes all 6. Just gives you slightly more heal a day. Plus saves 2 rocks for the rock pile and the max health adjacency bonus. Just put your rocks in the center on any row (left/ right OR top/ bottom) and line the rest with 3 meadows each side.

Attack speed is fairly important for all classes with exception of certain builds with the knight aka regen tank. Also ancient crypt is really only worth it with necro.

Yeah, NL had +627 hp from Rocks and Crypt (which is mostly Rocks bonuses) on loop 7, and armor level 6 was giving +520 hp... Maybe rogue can work with Crypt, but Armory is better for him since synergy with bonuses on items... All in all Crypt is good because of extra resurrection, so it can be used as saving system on Resources farm runs

Pop the Forest tile if you can. Drop stones, spiders, treasury, ETC I ran groves and graveyard, some Vampires for the resources, super thin deck. Oh and lanterns....with necro thinning the crowds really helps. Take the Necromancer Grab as many + skeleton items as you can as you can. 5 times in a row and maxed all my resources with the +50% (30 of each)....I had 7 skeletons fighting for me...2 were archer and 1 was a mage....liquidated her in no time.

A tip for you, necromancer synergies 120% with the forest card, since the monsters that spawn by the 10th forest, only counter, so the attack will counter the summons and not you.

and, if you have the trait that heals you 3*loop every time a skeleton dies, then the wooden warrior "A Village?" tiles will actually full heal you if youre hurt (since they only counter, and have a ton of health, and usually always 1 shot your skeletons), meaning you dont have to take any meadows or any kind of daily healing as long as you place 10 forests. just finished the final act with necromancer and forests + trait that heals you when a skeleton dies + trait that spreads the damage you take to your skeletons is actually a guaranteed win

This doesnt work THAT well... it's very easy to accidentally have too high attack speed, or too low max summons. This causes you to cap out on summons, and direct attack the wooden golems instead... Late loops, they can 2-3 hit you.

You can oblivion the vamp castle to make ransacked villages easier, it stays ransacked also. You can also prebuild treasuries in a U or C pattern and still keep them 1 apart to cut down on cards in your hand.

Evade is far more important than vampirism or even countering. When you get to the boss, he hits too hard for vampirism to keep your HP high enough to survive. Getting evade to around 40% or more makes most battles super easy, including the final boss. Combine that with the two skills of 35% chance to counter, PLUS successful countering heals you a bit, and vampirism is a waste of time.

If you put 2 rocks/mountains on side of the Treasury, you can get 6 Blooming Meadows out of it (rocks benefit from being around other rocks, so you can get a little more health from them if you use less of them somewhere else)

Ancestral crypt works best with necromancer, as he can't use armor anyway. Try to get forests, these work great with necromancer as well (+1 attack speed per placed card).

This boss is kind of a pain unless you have a ton of attack speed or aoe. I found it easiest with the Necromancer since you could have multiple skeletons attacking and killing mirrors every turn but getting the right gear for a Necromancer is pretty RNG heavy so it's kind of a pain to do runs with them. I wish more gear had +1 skeleton. Hell I wish some gear had +2 skeleton on it. It's annoying to have a lvl 6 ring when you're on loop 21 just because you can't get gear to drop the stats you need.

Can someone tell me, what happens when you continue around the loop after killing the 1st boss? do you work up to boss 2? if you retreat, when you start a new loop do you start on the first boss again?

Staying just lets you continue to loop. No more bosses spawn. Useful for farming resources if it's a good run and you can keep going for a bit. It's better in chapter 4 though, since there's no cap on resources, and as long as you can get past the last boss, you can just farm until you die.

There is a lot of this yes, I beat the game a few days ago, spawning harder enemies seems to have a much higher chance of dropping better loot, and NL is being way to overly cautious early game. Snowballing with great loot from tough enemies early on is the best way I found to have consistent runs. For example, I always drop a Vampire mansion inside a C shaped land mass so it can create 3 ransacked villages (has 3 spaces next to it), and immediately go for all 3 ransacked villages right next to each other as soon as possible.
