Putting the problems with the actor of Burke aside, his return was absolutely essential in finishing of Christina Yangs character journey. I always felt that this part of her life was never fully finished , there were still questions that needed answering. Them meeting again years later after so much time had passed was massive for the show and the fact that you can still feel their chemistry truly shows that what they had was real.

Me too. I never watched the show after he left, I was really hurt to see how his character was butchered because of his mistake in real life. The breakup was never supposed to happen, Burke tried really hard for Christina to let him in. He was not the one to give up. Even in this episode it is evident how much he still loves her. He made a huge mistake in that award function, I was really hurt by his exit. I didn't watch the show after season 3.

She was the love of Owens life and they were so good together the only difference was that she didn't want a child and he did why does that make her a bad person. from what I hear the show's rating has fallen its no longer in the top 20 shake things up by bringing Burke back and have him take over running Seattle Grace or do some what if episodes like what life would've been like if Burke and yang had got married at the end of season 3 show what would've happened if Ellis grey didn't have Alzheimer's and Webber and his wife had divorce and he and Ellis had got married or show the backstory behind the contempt that Hahn had for Burke or you could've had where izzie has a chance run in with Burke overseas and he got her back into medicine and while learning under him they started a friendship that turned to love and they have two kids when Cristina went to Switzerland in season ten episode 22 gets a double shock to find out Burke brought her there and izzie is there beside him and the two of them runs the institute and izzie has become a skilled heart surgeon rivaling her skills under Burke cause Burke was said by Webber was a dam good teacher and I think he and izzie would've possibly became real close friends and I believe he would've been there for her when she was fighting cancer unlike the others

Hailey Parsons I think it was because Christina wanted to leave but she couldn’t have left from death or some ordinary job. She needed something special to take her away from Meredith and a hospital full of hearts would do it. Plus it gives the views and Christina closure on burke

He did apologize and that incident happened 13 years ago. I think the prosecution needs to stop. He was dropped off from the show and has not been able to redeem his career since. That's enough punishment for a lifetime. He had a family and 3 kids, and didnt have work for 6 years. None of us would know what that's like, to not be able to support your family. He made a huge mistake by using that word in that award show, i can understand he may have been angry on the set and said it but in the award show he wasnt angry. So he should have been more responsible and not used that word. But i think he has suffered enough. He is a good actor, that shouldn't have anything to do with an incident from 13 years ago for which he did apologize.

A lot of people say that Shonda shouldn't have invited Isaiah Washington back to the show but I believe his character was important to finish off Cristina's character arc. That part of her life with Preston Burke was never really resolved so for them to meet years later after they are both successful in their own careers is truly a full circle moment. I mean, yes the actor Isaiah Washington has made homophobic slurs in the past but the actress that plays Meredith Grey, Ellen Pompeo has also made some questioning comments and statements in the past before as well and nobody said anything about her being fired or having to quit the show because of it. Half of Hollywood says questionable and inappropriate things all the time during interviews or on social media and nobody says anything about it because they are big time celebrities or they are everybody's favorite celeb or they are nepotism babies with a lot clout so they can't really get in trouble for it. I'm not saying that this is always true but it does happen. I don't agree with what Isaiah has said in the past I don't agree with it at all. But people make mistakes and they say things that at that moment that's how they felt. Us as a people need to stop relying on the whole "cancel culture" concept and just stop supporting people like this. Cancel Culture is extremely toxic and it does absolutely nothing but improve the person that you want to cancel career because you're still talking about them and giving them ammunition to keep going. If you stop buying their stuff or promoting their stuff then they might just fade into obscurity but then again nobody is really, truly ready for that conversation yet.

I always liked Burke. He was a passionate man, professionally and personally. People say he tried to change Christina, which I really doubt because Christina did a lot of things out of love. That doesn't mean she has changed, just that when we care for someone we do things for them that we wouldn't normally do. Having kids or having a family has nothing to do with your ambitions. There are plenty of women in the world who are really successful and have a family too. Its about what we choose to have. Christina just didnt want the baggage of a family. And Burke noticed that in time and left her. Only thing he did wrong was leaving her on the wedding day, he could have done it before or may be cancelled the wedding. And it was odd as Burke was a private person, why would he have a public breakup. It was obvious that breakup was not going to happen, it was the outcome of that controversy. And I had read few negative things were said about Burke in the show after he left, which also wouldnt have happened if he was to stay. In season 2 and 3 , people spoke highly of him in the hospital so suddenly how did he become so bad. I was really hurt by his sudden exit so i stopped watching the show. He was a good character and a good actor. I didnt care for the show after he left.
