Absolutely. I just went back to S1. On 6 now. I knew GA would survive the loss of Derek, Lexie, Mark, Izzy, and George. Just barely. But I did NOT believe it would survive Cristina’s departure. The show changed but it did not die. April had much to do with that. Tough when Alex and Arizona left. Covid season was ghastly. I haven’t seen current one. Kate Walsh return should help. In the original casting notes for the Grey’s pilot, the character of Yang was considered to be something of a rival to Meredith, and would have been the most antagonistic character in the original pilot. This was before they realised the potential for having the Grey/Yang friendship. A lot of things change. The original plan was to pair up Meredith with Burke. Bailey was originally imagined as a romantic interest for George. So many things changed after casting. So based on the original casting notes, before they changed things, Yang was considered more antagonistic towards Meredith.

Knowing the original plan for Bailey and George its kind a awkward Bailey and George in love interest. They have mother and son relationship.
@davidsinnott71603 жыл бұрын
@@marykylaeroapras3064 this was a very early draft. They originally planned on casting “a tiny blonde” in the role of Bailey, to make her stern personality more of a contrast. But that was before Chandra Wilson came in and they adjusted the role. One of the blessings of Greg’s doing a totally blind casting process. The character, like Christina, was originally conceived very differently, so if they’d gone the romantic route we wouldn’t have gotten the relationship we saw onscreen, as they changed their minds.

i was about to say the same thing, she really made a good move with that. for one, it would be harder for her to go for other roles having been christina SO long, much like ellen is basically only seen as meredith now. also listening to her i feel like she needed that element of evolving and not sticking to christinas character. they had done a lot with christina already, so even tho i was really sad to see her go, for greys and for sandra, it really was a logical move. tbh greys has been going on for too long and now ellen saying that theres a lot of money involved and many people depend on it, it seems like she keeps going so people can keep their jobs, not bc they still have GREAT storylines to cover.
@amelzemmoura32642 жыл бұрын
I feel like more than anything, her leaving grey's anatomy was more of a Christina move rather than a Sandra one, just like her character, she wants something more innovative, challenging! She was getting very comfortable with the character and that didn't bring her any progress that she thrived, just like how Christina wanted to conquer more in her surgeon career, Sandra wanted to discover more of her palette. And i admire this woman so much for her quick wit and self understanding methods, she knows what's good for her, she isn't afraid of rock bottom and she is well delicate with how she manages herself. i'm so grateful for sandra, she makes me feel so proud and happy to be asian, and she doesn't have any stereotypical asian roles, which felt like a such relief!

I’m glad that she remembers Sideways fondly despite the director and write being her ex husband. Still my favourite movie she was in.

That was a tremendous film, and she was amazing in it! Great ensemble cast!! I was working in fine dining then, and for real, Merlot sales took a hit LMAO!

Rarely does a supporting character surpass the protagonist and becomes the heart and soul of a show and this is entirely thanks to Sandra’s incredible talent.

I remember The Diary of Evelyn Lau like it was yesterday. It's a raw emotional film with some very difficult scenes, and despite being so young at the time, she had the talent and instinct to deliver perfectly. I'm not surprised she's gone on to great success.

I wish she spoke about Invincible here. I know it's a voice-over role but the way she delivered her character's lines had so much depth and it would've been wonderful to hear about that experience.

I am obsessed with the way she carries herself, the confidence she exudes, and just the person she seems to be in general. She spoke about each individual role as though she was writing it a love letter, or giving it affirmations for its part and place in her life, and that is beautiful. If I had a dying wish to fulfill that allowed for me to meet any celebrity, I'd choose her to sit down and have a conversation over tea with.

Like everything she’s in, “The Chair” was just amazing!!! Great acting, the story felt real, very well told, and was obsessed with the relationship between the main characters and the dynamic with the kid. I encourage everyone to watch it ❤️
