𝕀𝕫𝕫𝕚𝕖 & 𝔾𝕖𝕠𝕣𝕘𝕖 || 𝐸𝓅𝒾𝓅𝒽𝒶𝓃𝓎 || Grey's Anatomy

I discovered Grey's Anatomy for the first time in May, and needless to say, you can expect a few fan videos for it starting with this one!
I'm not immersed in fandom or general consensus on the ships in Grey's Anatomy, but I feel like George/Izzie isn't well-liked. I see Izzie isn't liked much because of how badly she was written out of the show, too. But these two were my absolute favourites from seasons 1 - 6, and their friendship was so special. By the end of their arc, I felt, despite popular interest in Izzie/Alex, that George/Izzie should have been endgame.
Regardless of whether you ship them romantically or not, these two were soulmates, and their ending was so tragic. I had to capture that.
I used Epiphany by Taylor Swift, because the song is so apt, that I'm half convinced Taylor, a hardcore Grey's fan, wrote it about the series.

I don't get how people don't like their relationship. Yeah, both of them made some really bad choices but I believe 100% that a relationship between those two could have been truly something beautiful.

I don’t disagree. But then they should’ve given them that. They had such a great friendship in the beginning then Izzie was being horrible to Callie, then they’re suddenly undyingly in love only to get into the most awkward short relationship that they end because the sex isn’t good? And after that their whole connection is just over, they have them act like they want nothing to do with each other even though the split was super amicably. I believe it’s also a big reason why George was given so little screen time in season 5 and T.R. Knight ultimately left. Since George wasn’t talking to Izzie and S5 is all about her he couldn’t be part of the main story. I just find it so annoying that they could’ve had a great friendship or a great lovestory but they gave them neither and ruined George‘s storyline in the process.

I blame the writers!! If George wanted to leave the show atleast they shouldn’t have killed him in an accident 😢 It wud have been wonderful if Izzie fight the cancer nd left the hospital with George someplace far so that Incase they wanted a reentry it wud happen !!

this romance that was the only one that really truly made sense. built slowly, not just as a TV poster pilot episode love interest (looking at you Gray/Shep). best friends to lovers. literally didn’t speak in the elevator scene and communicated seasonsssss of rich character/emotion/depth of relationship. not Denny not Alex not anyone had what they had and it should’ve been end game but they decided to throw it away for chemistry that’s how I feeeeeeeeeeel

Beautiful. Except now I’m crying. 😣 One of the reasons I could never fully get into her and Alex was because it seemed too one sided to me. I never saw her as loving him as much as he loved her. That wasn’t the case with her and George-there’s no one she loved more, and vice versa. These two were absolutely set up as soulmates. And there were definite signs...they purposely left them open ended with the “maybe someday,” which tells me they would’ve geared towards them again had he not left the show. If her friends had respected her DNR, she would've died with him (which I’m surprised the show never addressed-them going against her wishes. Especially because after, she was wishing she was deathly sick again, just so she could see him). Not to mention, Izzie making the mistake that got her fired was directly tied to her being upset thinking about George. And when she DID get fired, she said she “wouldn’t have anything left.” Without him there, she saw no reason to stay beyond her job. So, she was absolutely correct in saying he was the glue. Because once he was gone, she was not far behind him. She didn’t consider it home anymore. 🥺 I clearly have many thoughts and opinions. But I’m glad there are people out there like you who see it as I do.
