Its honestly depressing listening to the B-Side of Auto Da Fe, its what could have been if SPK had more dignity in becoming mainstream. Instead they made a cheesy synth pop album repurposing parts of scrapped instrumentals

One might consider that an attempt to become mainstream. Also, it was their decision, critic.

@@negateseverything "*Their* decision" is incorrect. Only one left by then was Graeme Revell. Though atleast even the cheesy synth pop albums had more personality than the elevator music level osts hes been making since the 2000s.

I feel all of SPK’s music has been an experiment in sound. Machine age voodoo was an experiment in the sound of mainstream pop music. Yes cheesey at times, there are some great lyrics and melodies in that album so it’s not completely worthless. This is what I tell myself at least so I can both listen and sleep in peace
