Owned a retired racing greyhound for several years. Wonderful, beautiful animals that are so chill and laid back, I had a neighbor that didn't know I had a dog until he looked over the fence one day. I had never experienced such a high level of gratitude from an animal before I adopted a retired racer. They appreciate having a real home, a warm bed, and having people around that care about them. Some trainers and owners do the right thing and make sure the greyhounds are adopted to good homes when their racing careers end. Others though should be in jail. There are real valid reasons why greyhound racing has dwindled so much in the US. It is though fascinating to watch them run at full throttle.

He was probably training greyhounds for hunting, not racing. There are no racing tracks in CO, so there would be no trainers there to train racing greyhounds.

@Rich Stiles, Using live bait to train greyhounds is illegal and has been for many years. There are no race tracks in CO, so he was probably training them to hunt. Greyhounds that are trained to race are trained with either a plastic bag or stuffed animal.

It’s pretty cruel. I think it’s interesting, but I feel bad for the dogs. It’s alright if people like it though, I won’t shame someone for it, I just don’t like it. Then again, it’s like horse racing, just more cruel. Nice video quality though, you can hear and see everything well

@Dreaming Dragon Greyhounds racing around the track isn't cruel at all. They aren't forced to race. They race because they love it. They are happiest when they are chasing that lure. They get the best care and love.
