Christ also called His disciples to holiness, to walk the straight and narrow path, because the wide path leads to hell and many are on it. Christ called His followers to not blend into their culture, but to be the culture's light and salt. Christ told His followers that the world would hate them because of His message, but to not worry because....the world hated Him first. The Jesus Callie was talking about sounds like a Jesus that Americans would LOVE. The words of Jesus used by Callie was to portray a Jesus of her own making, who is accepting and cool with Callie's life. Jesus did not come to destroy the Old Testament; He came to fulfill it.

@@anahataa.chandel1290 I have always felt like Alex and Izzie should have been end game. He was an absolute dick to her in the beginning, and her her a lot. He was very immature and was scared of his feelings for her and of being vulnerable. He was a prick to her, but he never forgot that she saw the good solid man in him before anyone else did. She beleived in his value and decency before even he did. Their feelings for each other were solid. He loved the hell out of her and supported her so beautifully when she was sick. He pushed her when she needed it and held her when she needed it and how they were to each other was what you can only hope for. Then She dipped and just left him during the horrible chemo period. I think being there at the hospital with so many horrible memories. Denny dying, the LVAD wire, her halucinatins, her nearly fatal brain cancer, her best friend dying, the heartache and humiliation and the sickness and I think she just needed to get out of there. So she left him, abandoned her life completely to find happiness elsewhere and I think it was heartbreaking for Alex, who was 100% committed by that time. He kept reaching out to her and she refused. Then she randomly showed up one day wanting him back and he said no. I'm so happy that you're well but I deserve better than this treatment. And he did. But those feelings for each other were always there and they never left. Now, remember Izzie can't have any other kids since her chemo and she'd always wanted kids. I think she didn't tell Alex because she didn't want him to feel pressured or affected by it. I REALLY like Jo, I really do but I think Alex's heart was always with Izzie. And even after all that time, he still felt compelled to reach out to her. To see how she was doing, to KNOW she was okay. And then when he found out about the kids, too. He has always been passionate about kids, and his terrible childhood made him want to be a kickass dad. Which I'm sure he was. It's messy but they were the couple I shipped the hardest, even when i hated one or the other of them ( at any given time), I always felt they were end game.

You'd be stuck with that reputation 99.99% of the time! You MIGHT get a pass and a chance at redemption in very special circumstances... like if you yelled at a doctor because your child was bleeding to death and you were in a panic. You know, like characters with injured children always squawk and cuss and carry on at doctors because it's good for the drama of the medical shows, lol. Which is a type of s*x work, which is shameful (or so they said - not my opinion, just trying to explain what the men were getting at in the scene). But as she said, she got through medical school debt free because of the money she earned, so she has nothing to be ashamed of... where as they will have to work hard for at least 10 years to pay off all the loans. It's quite ridiculous, really, but that's just how some people are. They blame the WOMAN because they admire her body and that makes them feel shame in themselves.
@87alsjth10 ай бұрын
@@tinymxnticoreDoesn’t make sense does it? Especially when the men wanting to sl*t shame are the very ones that pay for the content. Sex work is one of the oldest trades in the book aside from carpentry; so old it’s literally Biblical. Countless men keeping that type buisness lucrative but want to act like they don’t have a choice to give in or not.

These are all amazing scenes and everything I love about this show. Every one of these actresses DELIVERED. Izzy's speech about her modelling career and every moment Meredith stood up to her mother are the best. And the last scene brought me to tears.

The AUDACITY Derek had to call Meredith a whole when HE chose Addison. HE made that decision, and Mer's right, he doesn't control how she chooses to deal with that.

bro ngl, even in season 8 I still hate Alex. He is definitely not a good person in the show. He is exceptional at what he does but it still doesn't make him a good person. Whew :0
@rayjones445711 ай бұрын
WHAAAA? How many seasons did you watch? Cause he gets better, Joe was toxic for him but without her he was the best and the Mer and Alex duo really went hard in the last season he was in the show!

@@rayjones4457 I'm on season 8, ep 18. I really didn't like him when he just blurted out that Meredith did something with Derek's clinical trial. I get what Meredith did was not right but Alex is always getting help from his friends, but never helps his friends. Dude he got Meredith FIRED. Add the fact that Meredith couldn't get Zola either cause the adoption center lady saw that Meredith got fired and took Zola away. I was so mad. Also he just acts like a bitch which is not very attractive.

Not all of this moments are to be branded as "feminist" to me. Some are just progressive, like for Callie and her queerness for example, though there is an emancipation. Comments about sexuality, work, victims of abuse, slut shaming and everything... that's feminism, but when Lexie talks to Meredith about their dad's alcoolism, doesn't seem feminist to me.
@oakcanary404011 ай бұрын
The Lexie moment could be because daughters are often expected to be the caretakers for their widowed fathers... which is exactly what Meredith expected of her

@adrienmartin200911 ай бұрын
@@jolinalee3887 I even thought of something else : considering these moments alike means a simplification of feminism, and a loss of its primal signification, the history of abuse in society towards women. It's like creating unidimensional badass female characters : as a consequence, you miss the point if they are not complex enough and writers just wanna seem cool or whatever.

So...I didn't know that if I pretended it was "all okay" when I was sick for a long time....and forcing myself to focus only on the positive things...I would have the worst, lifelong C-PTSD. I have been sick since then...with YEARS of therapy, counseling, even medication. Toxic positivity...who knew back then. Now we know. It wasn't the hospitals fault that I had to hurt through all the bad things...but it hurt.
