If you ask me, the definitive Tarzan film. This is one I grew up with and feel that it's the perfect spiritual prequel to the first two "good" Sy Weintraub pictures (i.e., the reason we don't see Jane in those). From this score to the storytelling, it stands head-and-shoulders above most other versions. Also, there's the fact he's articulate and becomes well-educated as in the novels with him simply choosing to return to the wild as it's all he knows and can handle best. A favorite for all of those reasons.

John Scott is right up there with the rest of them. His scores never disappoint! And, the other person was right this is the definitive Tarzan film! So many thanks for posting this!

He borrowed a fair bit of the music from Edward Elgar without crediting it.

Not really. I mean, John Williams definitely finds pieces of classical music and then does something different with it. But Scott simply used Elgar's main theme of the 1st Symphony. Would have been nice if SOMEWHERE in the soundtrack it was credited.

And Edward Elgar. Which isn't surprising since he borrowed from at least three pieces of Elgar's. Just listen to Elgar's 1st symphony, the first movement.
