The main building is still standing! I've lived near it my whole life, and gone inside a few times. It really is amazing, shame to see all the wreckage inside though.

Yes, they did film an episode of House at Greystone. My old school is 5 minutes away from it, and we were all freaking out. One of my friends met hugh laurie because they had to close off her neighborhood during filming.

Did my nursing clinical here in 1966 - it was a disgusting place and I couldn't wait until I was finished. Spent time in a woman's ward - the attendants were big and strong - saw patients picked up by the arms and legs and thrown into rooms and the doors slammed closed and locked. Patients would come out of the bathrooms chewing on toilet paper and had crap around their mouths..........

dammit. what's wrong with us that we can't organize ourselves well enough to keep historical structures from being demolished? makes me crazy.

Too bad many of the buildings are slated for destruction so we can have more condominiums! Just what this area needs!

It's such a shame that Chris Christie allowed the demolition of this historical building to occur in 2015.

Is it really such a good idea to put mentally unstable ppl all together? doesn't that make them even more " abnormal".I do understand that there are doctors there to help etc, and they make programmes, but i think ppl will just keep being in their mentally ill state when they see their entire environment are ppl with special needs, think it will create a negative spiral. just interesting how society always outcast everyone's who's out of the ordinary, cutting them from hopes of a bright tomorrow
