Just getting around to using my Plate. Been going over all the videos. This video was kind of a eureka moment. It has really clarified for me the value of this accessory. Creating these work spaces will vastly simplify any edge referenced operations that will fit in the window. Thanks, Sam.

It may be just me, but I normally find these videos pretty simple to understand and well-explained. This one . . . . not so much.

Is there any way to set an offset for the grid? I tried yesterday to setup a workspace for the center of the plate. After that I drilled a 5mm hole in the center without moving the plate at all. vertically it is nailed at the center but horizontally the hole is shifter ~0.3mm to the right. Tried to probe several times but always get the same result. Any advice?

I wish Origin would offer a prompt and ask if I want to duplicate the workspace or to simply amend the workspace I'm "adding to". A list view would also be a huge improvement over the icon view.

Are we guaranteed the edge flags are at +-70mm or do we really need to setup all these reference workspaces? I was under the impression we could just use the onboard math to position things wrt 50mm and 70mm marks.

as in I'd rather just have that one center grid workspace master template.

You can certainly grid once then position geometry relative to the center point. This shows an alternative approach for folk that like to avoid math.

Where could we find the 8mm diamètre Metallic cylinder, to set up those grids? With classic bits it's not enough accurate

I think you could use any quality shank, measure it and enter the diameter manually

I hate saying so, but I have just ordered Origin, and I am of course watching as many videos asI can to get some understanding. This video? I didn't understand anything that was going on. I must be dumb, or the presenter thinks I already know how to use Shaper Origin. Extremely confusing...

Hi Philippe, Be sure to reach out to Support if you need any assistance onboarding with Plate! It helps to have your unit there to see how Origin's interface interacts with the Plate window, Fence, Reticle, etc.

So for this amount of money why don’t these reference locations come preloaded?????

Way too fast and very confusing. Why the rushed video?

For a new owner this doesn’t work. Presenter is too experienced and assumes viewer is well oriented. I’m going elsewhere, hope to find a better presentation.
