Grieving the loss of my dog vlog | how to deal with losing a pet

My boyfriend and I recently lost our dog, Daisy. She was, and always will be, an absolute angel. I vlogged part of my grieving process and some of the things we did to celebrate her life and time with us.
Here are a few things that I did to commemorate Daisy (including timestamps):
-Visited her favorite walking spots with her clay paw print 8:19
-Created a little nook in my home filled with her favorite ball, a picture of her at her best (running outside), her ashes and clay pawprint, and a couple of treats 12:46
-Wrote down memories and her funny habits and put these notes in her favorite puzzle toy to read when I'm feeling down 15:33

I lost my pet dove yesterday.... i just cant take it.... i miss he so much. It was so hear breaking to lose her. Her name was Dora, we used to call her baby❤ Rip to all our pets.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my beautiful angel, Bella, my Pomeranian of fifteen years. The grief was so bad at one time that I really wanted to just go and be with her. Losing any pet is the most searing emotional event a " human who loves and cherishes small animal pets" will ever go through. Dogs and cats, in the majority, are SUCH PURE SOULS. Humans seem to appreciate or be aware of these attributes ONLY AFTER their beloved pet is gone. Thank anyone! I thanked the universe for my sweetheart in every way, every time we went out for a walk during his last two years. The only positive result is getting a random group of humans who have lost their valued and beloved pets to connect together to be strong for each other

So sad to hear about your Teddy passing away. I know how it feels. It's true though, focus on the good memories and cherish them. I cant say it enough, my Beauty passed 2 months ago and I still think about her and miss her. So take it easy and a day at a time. You'll have good days and others not so much. But you will get through it. Rest in peace Teddy.

I just lost my dog on 8/24 who was 12 yrs old. She was a pitbull and her name is Beauty. Oh my God there is such a void!! I miss her badly...the same issue your dog had with her heart, was the exact same thing my dog suffered from. I just cant stop thinking about her 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Lovelast4ever I am SO sorry for your loss!! It really is the worst feeling. I really recommend trying out one of the activities in the vlog! Or even creating in any way you know how, when you feel ready. It will get better with time! There’s no “right” way to handle this so just know that you’re doing your best! Sending so much love ❤️

Thank you @ betigrewup. People who don't have pets, don't understand the grief and loss of a pet. Beauty was with me all day everyday. Now I'm alone.. she'd be the one to listen to me when I felt depressed or emotional. She was there through so many life moments. My grandchildren brought home from the hospital. She was never aggressive but Oh So Loving. I've lost family members but this by far hurts me the most. Losing Beauty is the worst pain I've ever felt. This friday I'll be getting her ashes returned to me and I will put her in a special place in my bedroom.

You loved her so so much, and she knew she was loved and taken care of until the end. You did everything you could for your furbaby! Things will definitely be different, but it’s okay to just take things day by day!

Awe I’m so sorry for your loss of Daisy. We lost our little Daisy a wire haired dachshund this past Sunday. She was simply running to the front door barking and immediately fell over and died instantly. We are still at a loss as to why. She was so healthy and had a physical last month. Unfortunately, I can identify as I lost my little Chihuahua of 11yrs old a few days ago and I am so heartbroken. My while body aches to have them here! He was my everything and miss him so much. He also had a heart murmur/desease. Their time with us is never enough. I know he will always be with me 💞. My heart goes out to you ❤️

Same here. My Chihuahua made it to 15 1/2. I miss her so much it’s causing me physical pain. I know it will get better but we ♥️ our babies. I spoiled her every day & I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Hope you are doing better.

I experienced the exact same thing with my baby last month before Christmas, same symptom and I wasn’t prepared for all the stuffs the vet was telling me. It was the hardest thing in life to go through. Such painful. Anyway, I’m also sorry for your loss. God bless all the animal lovers. 💖

I feel sad that Couldn't take paw print of my 11 year old cat Kutush. In my country these memorial facilities are not available. I lost him last month. It was traumatic for me. I'm still in great pain.

Sounds just like what my beloved dog went through. She was really overweight and was on medication for years. Until she woke up without breathing properly and passed a few hours later from fluid in her lungs. I am absolutely devastated by her loss. Sending you much strength and know you’re not alone

Thank you for this video. My dog had the exact same symptoms. Even down to the heart murmur. We had a vet appointment the following day but he passed before. Watching your video made me feel grateful we did not go to the vent so that he was able to pass away in my wife's arms.

Yesterday 2/18/2021 my dog ginger golden retriever passed away after found that she had a stroke on 2/9/2021. The vet said you have 2 options either put ginger down or bring to emergency room and not knowing her survival rate. So i decided to bring ginger to see family before letting go. My family got to see ginger for last time. Ginger lost appetite and did not drink water. Me and hubby had to force feed goat milk to ginger and water. But her body laying down not moving. I was staying strong for her. I only cried on vet visit. I don’t want ginger to feel my sad energy. But after she passed i am crying so much. I miss her dearly. Ginger will be crement and hospital will call us when ginger ashes is ready. Ginger been with us 13+ years since a baby. Ginger got to spend 1 week with us in the house before she passed away yesterday.

I lost my beautiful cat "Princes Boncuk" at11.5 years old two weeks ago due to cancer. Everything happened in 20 days and I was so shock and devastated. She was my best friend and my cheer of life. I am lost without her and miss her terribly. I also blame myself a lot about not to see the difference about her health and make blood test earlier, perhaps I coulr rescue her. My heart is crying and my pain is so big...home is so empty and sad without her...

I know how you feel. We just lost our dog a few weeks ago. We did the same thing to her. We cremated her body and kept her ashes together with her footprints, fur and teeth. We just want her to know that she is loved.

that’s what happened to me. My baby left over 2 months now. While he’s in the oxygen tank I’m going thru the worst time in my life. He’s heart problems took him away from me. The doc did everything but that doesn’t work and he passed in my arms. I miss him so much. I’m crying everyday. I’m dying. Apart of me went with my baby. He’s my everything he all I have got. I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. :(

My dog passed away on Wednesday and all the symptoms you're describing to me sound similar to what my dog was having. In hindsight, I should've taken him as soon as possible but he was only 10 and before it happened he was healthy, so my only regret is that I didn't take him to vets maybe a day before he died otherwise he'd probably still be alive. He too had a heart murmur and was coughing and breathing funny like he had phlegm.

I'm going through this now. Took my dog, my boy, into the vet last week and he was diagnosed with a bad heart and internal bleeding. Next thing I know, they're recommending euthanization. My mind was whirling. I said goodbye to him, he died in my arms that night. Had I known, like you, I'd have given him a special day. Today, I picked up his ashes and made a shrine, before seeing this vid.

I lose my pet 2 days ago. it's very hard His name is Phang Shih Tzu 10 years old He was healthy overall, but his heart has some kind of water balloon around. The doctor needs to move it out. And this action is very risking His life. And we do it because if not we will see he has a very hard time sleeping or lie down. sometimes his heart seems like stop working for 2-3 seconds and if that happens He will stop and shake takes hours to recover. it very hard when seeing it and it will be worse. He dies between Doctor's actions to remove the water balloon from his heart. I take him homes talk to him hug him along the way homes and bury him close to the house. I still see him everywhere in my house it's very hard. your video help me a lot. to see I'm not alone to face this and we will pass this happy together. And we will never forget our best friend they still with me with us forever.
