I think you have said all that has to be said in this video. For me he is the most exciting player in the last 10 years, maybe apart from Ono Shohei. I love the way he is not afraid to put himself into extremely vulnerable positions, which invites an attack, and then pulls out an amazing counter-technique. Also to win two world championships in a row is a pretty big deal. Not too many have done this.

@@christianmichon1940 Thanks for reminding me of that great fight. But since then Grigilashvili has won two world titles and Sasaki has performed very poorly. There is an excellent documentary on KZbin where Grigilashvili describes how failure can be a great teacher if you learn from it and improve as a result of it. It is subtitled in English.

Through +60 years of Georgian Judo history, Georgia had very talented and great fighters, world and olympic champions, but, for me, Tato is the best. No Georgian judoka has ever shown such technically ideal and dynamic style of fighting, such beautiful combination of Georgian and traditional judo styles. I wish to see him as an olympic champion next year. He fully deserves it.
