Grigor is similar to Roger in the sense that he has beautiful stroke production, variety of shot and great movement around the court. I think that one of the main issues is that he does not have that one putaway shot to end the point, where Roger could end a point in a heartbeat with one blow of his wand. Grigor is still one of the most pleasing players to watch in terms of style of play. Just has to work way to hard to end points compared to the Fedinator.

I think the big difference between Fed & Baby Fed is that Baby Fed plays better when he's defending

I just checked his frame at Chengdu ATP250. His racket is in the us open noir cosmetic, and no leather grip anymore. Feels very light in hand. Definitely not 320SW unstrung anymore.

When Dimitrov is on he's a super fun player to watch imo. He was playing really great last year until he got injured b4 Wimbledon & seems to be struggling a bit this year w/consistency. I always look for him in the draws to follow his progress.

He’s been doing alright this year, another retirement at IW wells though while he was easily winning against Kubler due to knee issues. Apart from that he only had one “bad” loss against Bublik and the rest was Tsitsipas and Djokovic (AO finalists), Medvedev (5 finals in a row) and Sinner (eventual finalist). Hope he gets a good draw here and there to make the best out of it.

Grigor is a tremendously talented player who maybe relied on his natural ability more than the other elite players. I have never heard anyone call him "the hardest working player" or the "fittest guy on tour". Maybe with Magnus Norman as his coach earlier on he could've done more with his skills... but it's inhumanly hard work to get to the Djoko/Fed/Nadal level and stay there. Fun player to watch, I always root for him to win no matter who he plays.

From what the other players say about him, the ladies love him! He did reach number 8 in the world, so there is that. But maybe he wants a more all around lifestyle, nothing wrong with that.

One of the great unfulfilled talents: he is a Federer 2.0 but with only 2% of the success. However, with US$22m in prize money so far (before endorsements..), and having plowed Maria Sharapova and Nicole Scherzinger for years on end, I'll swap lives with him any day 👍

Exactly. I've been always the opinion that Grigor could have been a much better player if he does not always try to mimmick Roger Federer. Also his racket in my opinion doesn't suit his game too well. He should get a racket with bigger head size, 97 at least. I believe that Blade would be a better option for him or maybe some Vcore Pro 97 from Yonex. He has it all, but sometimes I feel that the racket is constantly pushing him into perfection, which is obviously not there. There can be only one Federer in this world. He should go his own path with his own style and game plan.

I agree on doing as much with your current frames over changing frequently. I thought that Dimitrov is playing pretty well these days. That flex is pretty low for a Pro Staff type of frame.

It’s not a bad shoe but it’s nothing like a proper vapor shoe (before that word got attached to multiple Nike lines). Still many of the pros are on the 9.5 vapor which was recently brought back.

Totally random guess here, but my theory is it's still the same racquet, but he didn't like the new paintjob and just asked Wilson to have his racquets blacked out ( which Wilson probably doesn't like ). As another comment pointed out, even if he was trying out a new frame, I guess they could probably paint it like the new version. He seems to be pretty picky about the designs and the way he's dressed and all, like he still wears the vapor 9.5 but always in black and white. So I think the gold paint was too flashy for him, and he went back to the matte black look.
@M4V35
@M4V35 Жыл бұрын
even federer at some point has the blacked racquet, and it's because of he's trying something new, so it's not uncommon, by the way if he only wants another paintjob I think that he could have done it in a day...

Lul, I have my PS 90 2012 Autograph and was the best racket since today. The feeling in comparison of the 97 is way better! a Fewer things about 97 autograph is the head size and because of this, the distribution of weight, is way better then PS 90 version.

Most of comments in this video are the reflection of this sad society...number 27 in the world now, ex number 3, more than 20M only in prize money, won a masters, semifinals in 3 grand slams in the big three era, even his tennis is very nice to watch for many people which is not easy, and many people pick their phone to write bullshit from their sofas, thinking his opinion and his hate or envy are the sun of this Galaxy. I'll keep enjoying tennis, knowing that only a few can be the numbers one and that's largely because of the hard work of those who can't reach that milestone.

His career is good but nothing special, he's prob. the biggest example that talent, perfect technique and physique is only half the cake of tennis...
@bonzwah1
@bonzwah1 Жыл бұрын
I'd say instead, that he's an example that pretty technique does not equate to effective technique. Unreliable backhand and unreliable attacking forehand. Really the only shot he has that is exceptional is his slice.

He has no constancy and no brain on pressure , mediocre player
@Tlll123
@Tlll123 Жыл бұрын
Well... He's still the top 0.1% among all professional players. By the standard of GS winners, he's backhand is just too much of a liability. People say Fed's backhand is weak, but it's more than good enough against all but TWO players really. On the other hand most top players could neutralize a rally from a a defending position, by simply looping the ball back to Dimitrov's backhand and get a slice back. It wasn't as big an issue when he had the athleticism to attack the net on every chance, but once the leg gets a bit slower he find himself playing way to many long points that he should not be playing.
@hybrid11theory75
@hybrid11theory75 Жыл бұрын
@@bonzwah1 I agree for most, his shots aren't as effective bc he plays like monfils 3 meters behind the baseline all the time. From there u can win against ''dumb'' players, but not against the best who know what they're doing.. I'm totally sure with a stronger mental side and better coaches he could've had at least a murray type of carreer or better..
@Jingoa
@Jingoa Жыл бұрын
@@Tlll123 Fed's backhand was never that good but it didn't have to be--he used it to play defense and to approach. If he tried to grind out long points then he'd have been in more trouble. Like Sampras (who was pretty terrible from the baseline), he knew how to play to his strengths.

I dont know where all the hate for Dimitrov comes from. Well I can guess… if you dont have the money to lose a bet, leave betting alone. Dimitrov IS an exceptional player if you simply have a look at the statistics. And lets not start how playing styles like his attract viewers for this beautiful sport.
