I have an old Volkl. For some reason, this looks really big.
@tedneanderthal737312 сағат бұрын
So many Volkl racquets are very stiff. I bought a pair of Boris Becker NYC racquets which were made by Volkl and they were way too stiff for me. I gave them away and they got tennis elbow but loved the racquets. I have 2 Volkl Speeds racquets and they are beginner racquets but I love the flex and comfort! I wish Volkl would make more flexible racquets and keep them more standard length rather than extended. The Volkl handles absorb shock very, very well. Power and stiffness is not everything. Volkl, please give us more standard length and more flexible racquets (60 to 64 RA).

Thank you for your review - I bought a 16 gauge reel based on it. I think this string pairs well with the Yonex Percept 100D both in looks and playability. It feels comfortable with good control at 46 lbs. Shipping to the US was surprisingly fast.

think the new look of extreme is a hit, at least much better than the last generation (which actually features a neon color but looks mushy and weak with the gray)

The biggest downside to low swing weights and light racquets to me is technique. Can get away with bad technique with light racquets and develop bad habits. Heavy racquets force earlier prep, full swings, less jerky movements (because not possible) etc etc.

She is practically a man. Sorry but her and her sister ruined womens tennis. Advertising revenues went down, nobody cared, and everybody got paid less. We cared about Martina Hingis. Nobody cared when the Williams sisters brutalised the sport. That's the truth.

As someone who isn’t saddled with a prejudice towards Oversized rackets I’d suggest you try using the Wilson Prostaff 5.7 EB. It comes in a Oversized version at 115 square inches and .75 inches longer. It is no longer made but can be found on EBay. The racket was a precursor to your racket. I used to demo rackets a regular basis as it was educational and free. I used a POG but I had a slight prejudice against Super Oversized rackets. But this racket really opened my eyes as to how well a 115 sq. Inch racket could preform. It needed about a ounce of weight added in various places, but the feel and control and free power were amazing. 20+ years after quitting tennis I bought one on eBay just in case I take up tennis again. I’ll probably never play at a high level again but it’s good to know I own racket that can be useful at both Senior tennis and 4.5.

I remember this long Esquire article that the late David Foster Wallace wrote about professional tennis in the mid 90’s. The article focused on Michael in a very complimentary way, as well as commenting more broadly on the emergence of power baselining in the 90’s. It’s worth a read! Great to see what a great coaching career he’s had.

Exactly why I clicked on the video! Just finished reading that article a few weeks ago, actually. His description of Joyce is so accurate to what’s portrayed in this podcast. Very calm & even-keel guy.

If a brand is dedicated to the consumer and society of tennis vs the stores and pro players , then they will sell their product . The rest sll to stores because they do not want to to be responsible to the consumer .

Racquet manufacturers take the piss when it comes to lite versions. Wilson had a v8 blade Team and it was just a steam 99 with new paint.

Honestly it's horrible. I tested all the new PRINCE models in 2023 and the truth is, I can only choose the "TOUR". It seems to me to be a good racket, solid, strong and controllable.

Would be good to see more brands and they should just focus on signing on lower ranked Pros, semi-pros and national players.

Jonas here is a few to add to the Dunlop list: Tim van Rijthoven is another former top 200 player who uses Dunlop specifically FX 500 Tour a racquet I just reviewed on my channel Jenson Brooksby is another former top 100 player who uses Dunlop specifically CX200 Michael Mmoh is another top 200 and formerly top 100 player who uses Dunlop specifically Dunlop SX 300s Dunlop is gradually on the rise again Also I am sure there is a Prince Pro in top 200. But Prince Pros I have heard of are: Drago Madaras who was atp 191 not long ago and Thomas Fancutt who was atp 382

Re- Roland Garros: Its plainly stupid and unfair and anti-tennis for coaching to be allowed. The players always turning to their boxes is going to get worse. Keep coaching to BEFORE the match and let the players PLAY THE MATCH. Umpires seem to be either incapable, incompetent or partially blind some of the time It seems like the court condition was not so great all the time. May have contributed to injuries namely for Novak. Scheduling was screwed up but the weather did not help. I assumed France was signed up to Weather Modification like the 45+ other 'countries' that use it aka 'chemtrail$" ? And 30 Euros to string ?!? Thats insane. Total ripoff

Alcaraz is a great player but got a bit lucky that he had to face a nervous up and down opponent in Zverev. Zverev should have won it and that call in 5th set defines how bad these umpires are. However Zverev seems to just be incapable of winning slams. I think if Alcaraz faced a more in-form Sinner or Novak he would have lost. Out of the 3 slams he has won this is not his finest

Alcaraz had the best run at Rolland Garros. Period. There are no IFs. 🤐

Hi Jonas i've been to Stuttgart yesterday and saw the Mpetshi vs. Musetti match. After that we also saw Struff Murray etc. But compared to Mpetshis Serve these guys serve in slow motion, its insane. Maybe it has to do with his quick technique where he almost hits on the rise (like Ruud). 2nd serve also consistently in the 195 + range and not a lot of double faults.

Incredible to think that prince became such a weak brand. From winning major to nothing. Last one was probably swiatek. Don't know about doubles
@rbarreira24 күн бұрын
What kind of rackets can sustainably withstand 90 lbs tension? Perhaps more than we think, as presumably there's a safety margin between the recommended tensions and the actual maximum they can handle. I wouldn't risk it though.
