i got to this stage of the game and felt strong, i was clearing the desert type dungeon and fighting bosses no problem. I rushed into the crypt executioner not knowing he straight up ignored armor and protection... didnt last too long. Learned a valuable lesson that day, if unsure, bow spawn from a few chunks away

The Lost Cities is the part of RLCraft 2.9 that has the sharpest difficulty spike. Every mob is a miniboss that tanks damage and hits like a literal truck. Some of those mobs can teleport in other minibosses if they catch sight of you. Ironically, fighting the Amalgalich in the Lost Cities is easy by comparison to the rest of the Lost Cities general exploration. They certainly live up to the name "Lost Cities" or "Cities of the Damned", although I never found any of the in-game lore books. When I eventually tried the Lost Cities, I found potions of invisibility to be extremely helpful. Sure, in close quarters it won't make a difference, but it pays off by preventing the wall hacking mobs from mobbing you with minibosses at all times. Bear in mind that several mobs can inflict a Fear status effect in close quarters that disables being able to block with shields, shoot arrows or even interact with the world. It's also the part of the modpack that convinced me that adding Tinkers Construct and it's addons is actually perfectly balanced for - in that they generally perform worse than the default tools/armour you get access to (Believe me, I added those mods and tried, and got no further than I had previously). I did add some other mods which helped a little but still didn't quite make the gap closed per se.

Since 90% of the mobs are indeed parasites from the newest Scape & Run Parasites, it would be wise to bring you with weapons that ignite enemies on fire. Burning parasites at adapted or better will now take full damage from your weapons, else be turned into wet noodles in 3-4 hits. The weird thing about the damage adaptation, is that parasites will adapt to your weapons damage type even if it ignites them at 1. hit. Thus a lava bucket from vanilla will help you cathing multiple paraste on fire and be able to keep them burning, even if it is raining. Since you anyway has a dragon eye equipped at that point, you can use it igmnore both the fire damage from lava and its ludicrous heating if Tough as Nails is installed. The added benefit of lava buckets is that are easy to obtain, even in vanilla like packs or vanilla game itself and it slows down mobs, including those parasitic bastards who can swim like a water walking Usain Bolt. In essence, apply the afterburn effect with a lava bucket or any fiery weapon of a different damage type than say your saber, so the parasite tries to adapt to the fire damage from lava while your saber deals full damage as long as the parasite keeps burning to crisp.

@@jonashardenhaug179 I've actually been experimenting quite a bit, it does seem as though the damage adaptation has either been disabled or greatly mitigated, as the parasites have a flat amount of armour toughness that doesn't seem to go away when they are on fire and using the same weapon that doesn't ignite them doesn't deal any less damage on the first swing or the twentieth. Turns out my "solution" to the extreme default damage resistance was to pack a weapon with a bigger outright punch. Thankfully, there are a few weapons in RLCraft that can do that. If you're using Tinkers Construct like I am, the total tinkers expansion re-adds battleaxes which can 2-3 shot a common hostile at the cost of taking double damage from all sources. I still find that the Amalgalich is the easiest part of the Lost Cities by no small margin.

use silver armor to be immune to fear debuff. pretty risky due to the low stats, but run buffs and potions and become a drunkard to extend the duration of the buffs and you'll be good

I went into this mod blind and got destroyed lol Then I watched a few quick guides on specific items and then one full guide (which helped give me a ton of info on everything) but they didn’t exactlyyy help. After I watched ur series so far tho I’ve been able to go into dungeons and do things more effectively. I feel like watching you actually do everything instead of talk about it rlly helps me get a good hold of what to do. In the Lost city, the most annoying part is the fear effect parasites gave you. Which doesn't allow you a right and left click. The best defense against it is full silver armor. It will give you the effect cure and ignores fear. But you need advance protection to survive in silver armor though.

The series is awesome, and the lycanite boss run was great. For the lost cities I would recommend you try to get maxed out silver armor as ankcharm doesn't protect you from parasite fear effect but silver armor can, although it's weak which is why you need full undying bubbles, that fear effect makes you unable to use you right click functions, and you get it the nanosecond they are in the vicinity and you want to use a bow because they hit hard and the advanced guys can easily bring you down in full prot4 golem , also some potions of flight for quick escape and some of titan transformation for extra hearts. So value survivability is my advice because those guys hit HARDD

they store the xp because when you enchant, if you have for example 40 levels and spend 3 of them on an enchant, itll take you down to 37 levels, but those 3 levels would have been enough to fill an xp tome.

It always happens when you escape the end through the portal, it seems to not notice that you have more hearts and resets them back to your first original hearts through damage I think...
