As far as crit hits go, (fall damage too most likely) the game is looking for any negative y velocity. That's the reason punishing works in pvp for example. Since you're jumping in reverse, I'm guessing you could crit on the ascent of your jump instead of the descent. I don't know if you've tried that already. Fall damage checks for negative y fall distance too, so it makes sense there would be none.

This is impressive! It'd be so hard to orient myself upside down, takes a lot of getting used to, so kudos!! I was worried about the nether but as soon as you got there I was like "of course! all the lava is at the bottom of the nether and you can just walk around on the ceiling no problem", Although the piglin brutes almost got you there :) And these runs can instanstly end if the end spawn wasn't enclosed too! The strat of cobwebbing yourself is actually genius!! I'm glad this came up on my feed. I was entertained from start to finish

dont quote me on this but i believe the opening time for the chest with the treasure map for shipwrecks is dependent on how far the treasure is because chest loot isnt generated till you open it, which is also why you cant see chest loot in spectator mode for newly generated chests and if every chest loot was generated upon chunk creation, it would just make the game much more laggy. its generating a map for what i believe to be the nearest buried treasure and naturally, the further it is the longer time it takes to search for and generate the map. as for why they occasionally bug, i actually have no idea, but id reckon that thered be a logical reasoning behind it.

I think to crit, you have to hit them on the way up. Cuz critting works coming "down" in your jump (toward the ground) so if you crit on the way up but you're upside down... that's the same thing.
