I've seen this sort of thing before but a job well done. Very neat and tidy. Around here with all the shore breezes it would function better if the coals were protected from a simple three sided shroud and if I had one I would mount it on a base that I could swivel and lock, again because of the breezes. I like it, well done.

Love the simplicity of your design. Strength lies in the Engineering aspect. I have an idea. Keep the grill at constant height (maybewith lid). Deepen your height-adjustable firebox with air flow holes drilled in, that ash into secondary box with removable ash"tray" below. You're winning brother! Looks awesome!!

But I see now, that there is very big interest in this grill, so I will probably make more of them. Possibly sometime in the beginning of 2019. That's it? I would like to see It in action before purchasing one of those grills. I would think that it needs some holes drilled in the bottom tray which holds the hot coals to keep them glowing. But it looks like a great idea. It would also need to be sheltered from the wind
