Not only that ! Just think about, how long Jackie´s racing career is ago ! He finished his career in 1973, by now, thats 43 years ago ! There won´t be THAT many people, who have seen Jackie racing, including the interviewer, who knows most Jackie-stuff only from the books ;)
@dtmfan7 жыл бұрын
Definitly, no doubt about that ! You see, when Jackie could´nt remember about the answer and the interviewer gave him a little guess (Podium finish with "the american guy" or about his last race win), Jackie was there, straight away ! And i bet, when he said the answer, he also remembered about the situation back then. Great stuff, great footage :) I would love to see more of the "old heros", being in F1 that long and giving back, what the sport have given them before :)

His relentless work to improve safety saved countless of lives too. When he started racing safety was virtually *zero* when he stopped they had implemented armco barriers, drive-off areas, impact barriers (tyres and such) and had drivers refuse to race on some tracks if not certain safety measures had been taken before the race.

It’s insane to think how much motorsport history this man has seen. He’s the last surviving champion of his era. Having raced with Hill, Rindt, Clark, and countless of other greats…the stories he could tell would fill thousands of pages. It’s gonna be a real shame when he leaves us.

I've never heard booing so much and so often as in 2016 and it's not what you do in F1. Go to a football match but keep your childish behaviour away from the Grand Prix. Be a fan of whoever or whatever you want but show respect for every driver that steps into the car.

I would’ve loved to see a grill the grid for Jack Brabham, Ayrton Senna, Sir Stirling Moss, Jim Clark. Jim Clark and Jack Brabham were born near the time of Jackie Stewart so if Jack Brabham lived for a few more years and if Jim Clark and Ayrton Senna didn’t unfortunately die in a crash it would’ve been possible. And why didn’t they do one for Sir Stirling Moss? He was the best driver to not win a championship.
