Best thing to do is blend the garlic, lemon, thyme and salt into a paste and then spread it into the flesh. When aromatics are broken down into smaller bits they release their full flavor, but when left whole or in bigger pieces all they do is steam. Which is why most people use things like garlic powder or seasoned salts in everyday cooking.

Those are beautiful trout! I'm allergic to all fish and seafood now, (after chemo & radiation therapy) but I could eat it when I was younger And we would grill the trout we caught ice fishing with linguica-a Portuguese sausage. It was soooo good!!!

I grew up on the Toccoa in Georgia. Rainbow trout was a staple in our household. I haven't eaten it in forever. My mom would make "boyscout dinners" for us all the time with the trout we brought home. Trout, baked potato, and a slice of onion all put in aluminum foil and baked in the oven.

I never have tried trout...but I live in a country which is difined by it's greenery and rivers(of course with time and energy, we've managed to reduce them to half of the half of what we had as we also are in the race of polluting the earth😔). We are a nation known by their variety of fishes. So am sure I have had some kinda fish from the rivers close to mountains similar to trout. We mainly eat fish by making curry or fried. But, am sure this method of flavouring form the cavity and grilling will make any fish, especially the oily kind taste great. I like grilled fish. who won't? this video of grilling u der the open Sky in the wild reminds me of my escapades to the village from time to time when I become tired from racing life in the city. that's why I particularly like your videos. btw, the country I talked about is BANGLADESH.

I have a question for experts, what the main difference between Trout and Salmon because at first glance they look the same?
@ohjoshdarnit
@ohjoshdarnit 3 жыл бұрын
Trout are freshwater fish. Rainbow trout are just steelhead which haven't gone to the ocean. They're a lot like salmon. Not all trout have that lifecycle though. Salmon are a kind of fish with a life cycle that includes both freshwater and saltwater. They come back to freshwater streams to breed and die. Trout usually just live their whole life in a freshwater stream or body of water.
@roymustang5850
@roymustang5850 3 жыл бұрын
@@ohjoshdarnit so if rainbow trout goes to ocen it become steelhead, Does it considered as Salmon? I did hear one or two in this channel that if trout pass a certain size it is called Trout Salmon?
@ohjoshdarnit
@ohjoshdarnit 3 жыл бұрын
@@roymustang5850 they're kind of both.. per regulations (depending on where you live) size will determine if it is considered a steelhead or not. For example in WA state if it's under 21 inches it's a trout, and if it's over its a steelhead and counts towards limits.
