I love when JR goes off topic and goes into almost a time machine in his life. This and Cornette are by far the best wrestling podcast going. Conrad is underrated and needs to be involved in wrestling someway.

You've been out riding fences for so long now Oh, you're a hard one I know that you got your reasons These things that are pleasing you Can hurt you somehow Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy She'll beat you if she's able You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet Now it seems to me, some fine things Have been laid upon your table But you only want the ones that you can't get Desperado...🎵

@@armanirza that's true and funny af, at least he was hiring black wrestlers at that time and not just making them heels,, cuz the few promotions that did hire black guys used them as heels,, and all the other promotions the only black wrestler they hired was dusty Rhodes

Are they really not going into any of his ecw work? Terry won the their title in their 1st ppv and Shane Douglas that pile of tin and brought back the prestige of the nwa title like a 1994 reversal.

At the end JR said Vince worked very hard at getting Lex over. Well Lex WAS over, and WWF screwed it all up by not having him win the title at SummerSlam. Vince has no one to blame but himself.
@ToxicAvengerCleanYourMind3 жыл бұрын
No, he wasn't. I was 8 and knew they were just trying to build him up like Hogan. He goes from being the Narcissist to quickly becoming "the #1 good guy" everyone should love and it sucked. He was alright, but definitely wasn't over the way he was being pushed.
@ToxicAvengerCleanYourMind3 жыл бұрын
@ShadowAngel No, he wasn't He wasn't drawing fans, he wasn't selling merchandise, and he wasn't a fan favorite. All you have to do is watch the Royal Rumble when both he and Hart fell out. The fans are loudly cheering that Hart was the wrestler they favored. You're wrong. You might of liked him, but was he 'over', no, not how he was pushed.

I understand EVERYBODY knows wrestling is a work. And this podcast talks about everything and everyone in the business matter of factly. BUT the part when they're talking about Dory Funk Jr as champion, and how he could adapt and work with everyone, and then JR segways that into the AEW match-up of Omega vs Jungle Boy, and describes how Omega's job is going to be making Jungle Boy look good, to put the shine on him and whatnot.... C'mon, am I the only one who doesn't need the 100% behind the curtain, "this is pre-planned and what you can expect Omega to do" details? I'm not saying JR has to remain in character and kayfabe it and just stick with the storyline, but other than just saying who's in the match and when it's going to take place, don't chat up any of the preliminaries regarding it. Talk all of the ins and outs AFTER it takes place. Kinda sorta pretend there's still a touch of illusion to the whole thing. I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong. Definitely wouldn't be the first time. Other than that, I loved this podcast/video. Great job. And Terry Funk is just one of my all time faves so I'm gonna be a little biased.😉 Really though, great job guys!👍👍
@Mr920943 жыл бұрын
No one in modern wrestling keeps kayfabe anymore. Hell both promotions often break it on air. JR probably is too old to fight upstream on this
