Its hard to believe that so few military intelligence specialists made it off Terra with the Exodus. But I can see how the floatilla's survivability depended, for a time, on honestly and fair dealing unitl the culture of counterintelligence was effectively bred out of them.

Hello Grim. A good video today on the Clan Watch. Although the Clans were higher tech than the Inner Sphere, and FAR more 'formal' with the way the prosecuted battles, it is not really all that hard to see why they lagged so far behind the Spheroids in Intelligence Operations and Planning. By the time they knew they needed such things, they were already up to their necks in Inner Sphere political, military, and yes, Intelligence operations against them. I am somewhat surprised that the Inner Sphere forces could not anticipate Clan movements enough to counter advances. Yes, the Clan military still 'out-teched' them, but knowing where the enemy would be, when, and in what amount of forces, should have given the Inner Sphere advantages that could be used. Tactical use of terrain is all well and good, but knowing one's enemy, and using his propensities against him is one of the oldest ways to win battles.
