I LOVE Clan Battlemechs. This one always looked a bit "cartoony" with the big grinning skull face, but it's still a kickass design:)

Of all the sculpts done by Catalyst Game Labs done compared to Iron Wind Metals, the Executioner is - in my opinion - one of the best. They un-smushed the face a bit and added some definition that was sorely missing from IWM or PGI's MWO asset.

I would fear the Executioner more than the Highlander. A jump capable assault mech that can carry a big bore ballistic weapon is bad enough, but this thing is fast, omni-capable and very agile.

The supercharged MASC variant could be devastating for a charge. That would essentially be up to 95 points of damage in addition to weapon fire on the way in.... this thing could literally run through smaller mechs.

Executioner (Gladiator) configuration b. I remember seeing this mech in MechWarrior 4 mercenaries and always getting one as soon as I could.

An underrated design. Perhaps because so much of it actually flies by n the face of Clan design philosophy. The Gladiator Prime is one of the few Clan assault mechs that laughs at even the implication of overheating. It’s fast enough to rack up hit penalties way higher than anything you should be getting from an assault mech, and the Gauss Rifle can basically fire indefinitely. It’s battlefield role is extremely niche, and it’s armament lacks redundancy, but I like the ugly bastard. The Warhawk is just an upjumped Stalker, but the Gladiator is truly its own machine.

Ah, one of my favorites. My own personal is named "The Taker". High mounts for the Lg pulse lasers er smalls on the right hand for close in business and 2 streak 4's on the left hand. I am waiting on the Hyper Assault Gauss (HAG 40) to make an appearance in MWO.

I always disliked the looks of this one, but the new plastic mini from the "Clan Invasion" box changed my mind. I like the idea of an Assault that can keep up in a Heavy Star.

Gladiator is my favorite Clan assault. my son used one in his first ever game and it did well. MASC I view as a bit risky, due to the possibility of leg damage. rather rip that out for a targeting computer.

I have this image in my head of an Inner Sphere pilot sprinting across the battlefield in a MASC/TSM equipped Gladiator while blaring the Ultimate Warriors theme music over every comm channel and the mechs external speakers. And yes the mech is painted in homage to said wrestler.

I mean it's a clan mech so it'll be pretty good in combat but the society that made it embraces war above the IS, and it was created by a mentally disturbed individual who given the lack of leadership experience should not have been allowed into a leadership position (Kerneskys son, not any of the creators of the game just to clarify)

Honestly i feel like most of the issues people have with the clans are hypocritical when you took a look at the IS itself. You like a a certain brand of crazy but hate another. What has clan diamond shark, clan wolf, clan ghost bear, clan coyote done that the combine havent gone further with at some point? Or the capellans? Not every clan is Smoke Jaguar or even Jade Phoenix. Clan wolf till ulric died was a warden clan trying to sabotage the clan invasion for instance. Clans arent Nicholas Kerenskys puppets anymore and was dead for centuries by the time of the first clan invasion. They changed and evolves by then and have their own philosophies for better or worse. Hell compare them to Comstar and id say Comstarand Word of Blake were WAYYYYY crazier and died way more damage to the inner sphere, they theyre heralded as champions and defenders of the Innersphere. Imo atleast the clans keep it interesting cause they do things so differently than the Innersphere, innersphere politics to me after just dumb af and kinda boring and doesnt make sense. Like victor davion using a body double for joshua marik to hide he died for luekemia on New Avalon.what is that, wtf even is that. Of course its not gonna fucking go well and wasnt gonna work and was so fucking short sited. And theyre supposed to be the “good” house and Victor is written like hes supposed to be the big hero guy of battletech in that era. But hes a fucking idiot. Personally i always felt like the Mercs and The Clans were bu far the most interesting
